I went out today to spend some vouchers my boys were given for christmas at build a bear workshop. Ds1&2 had their chosen bears and we were queuing for the stuffing machine.

Sorry, not Sharon but maybe she was the one filming!

I once won £100 worth of bab vouchers off here.

That got 3 bears and 3 outfits, and I had to add money. Rip-off.

Very grateful for the experience though Grin

wannaBe · 28/12/2012 18:49

what do you think she was going to do with it? really? a video of fully clothed children in a public place? I don't know why someone would want to video a stranger's children but I thin all this obsession with strangers is a bit ott really. so ... yabu.

HecateQueenofWitches · 28/12/2012 18:49

That was a bit weird of her, yes

TheOriginalNutcracker · 28/12/2012 18:49

Yanbu, as that is just weird

HairyGrotter · 28/12/2012 18:50

To be fair, I wouldn't want someone filming me either, especially a stranger

ShipwreckedUnderTheTree · 28/12/2012 18:50

No...that was weird. YANBU

(Ps love the anticipation build up there, waiting to work out how the title related to the op!!)

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 28/12/2012 18:50

Yanbu.

lunar1 · 28/12/2012 18:51

I have no idea what she would want it for, it just seemed so odd

OP posts:
lunar1 · 28/12/2012 18:52

Sorry shipwrecked the actual post was probably much more boring than the anticipation!!!

OP posts:
ShipwreckedUnderTheTree · 28/12/2012 18:53

Its not dull but It's a very straightforward AIBU!!!!!

Xmas Grin
coughingbean · 28/12/2012 18:54

yanbu, thats strangeHmm

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 28/12/2012 18:54

yanbu i would have made her delete it too. why the hell would someone film someone elses children in a shop? Confused

jessjessjess · 28/12/2012 18:55

Yanbu that is super weird.

Sparklingbrook · 28/12/2012 18:55

That is very odd and I wouldn't have been happy. Sort of compliment I suppose, but not right.

LittleBairn · 28/12/2012 18:56

YANBU that's just creepy.

Nanny0gg · 28/12/2012 18:58

I would have asked for deletion too.
Very intrusive.

MammaTJ · 28/12/2012 18:58

YANBU, I would have done the same, not that my DD ever stays still enough even to be videoed.

SantasENormaSnob · 28/12/2012 18:59

Yanbu

Weirdo.

WizardofOs · 28/12/2012 19:01

If you were in an episode of Tales of the Unexpected you would go to wake your boys tomorrow morning and they would have been replaced by giant teddy bears.

festivelyfocussed · 28/12/2012 19:03

OP of course YWNBU.
Wannabe- thiswoman's intentions might have been completely innocent but it's still a bit off to film someone else's children without expressed consent. Also, without trying to sound alarmist, children do not have to be unclothed for the to be at risk. Ppl who deal in the trafficking of children will take photos and film of them, clothed or otherwise, to show to potential "customers". I don't tank it's fair to suggest the OP was overreacting. It's really not poss to be too careful with pur babies IMO.

LetsFaceThePresentsTheyrePants · 28/12/2012 19:05

YANBU. There was probably nothing sinister about it but it's just plain feckin rude.

lunar1 · 28/12/2012 19:09

Thank goodness the majority are saying ianbu! She was just so odd I was already uneasy at her invading my space. I was worried I had over reacted

OP posts:
complexnumber · 28/12/2012 19:10

It wouldn't have worried me in the slightest.

But then DP has the view 'if it feels wierd, then it is wierd.' Which is probably a safe attitude to take.

littleducks · 28/12/2012 19:10

I wouldn't like it.

I wouldn't want my kids filmed and the possibility of the video being posted online.

I would find it weird if she was ignoring her own kids.

It isnt the risk of child snatchers so much as an invasion of privacy. It is rude and bad manners.
