to ask FIL to wash his hands when he has taken a piss?

FIL is a digusting caveman. I don't know how lovely MIL puts up with him. They are here for buffet lunch & tea today. He has prostate problems so is going for a wee every half hour or so. Since they arrived at 11am, he hasn't washed his hands once. But he has spent hours lovingly fingering the buffet food. He just emerged from the downstairs loo again, and I said to DD "you didn't put the Hello Kitty handwash in that loo, did you? Grandad doesn't want to smell of strawberries". He just ignored us. Food is probably showered in piss by now anyway. Xmas Sad

How are you so sure he hasn't washed them?

Sirzy · 26/12/2012 16:45

How do you know he hasn't washed them?

Am positive he hasn't washed them. Piss, flush, door handle. No time at all to wash and wipe. Also, noisy tap in downstairs loo, so really obvious.

wakeupandsmellthecoffee · 26/12/2012 16:56

Boak

PenguinBear · 26/12/2012 16:57

My FIL does this... Although he does it after he's done a number 2!

Steth · 26/12/2012 16:57

cocktail sausages on the menu?

MsElleTow · 26/12/2012 16:59

Ewwwww I wouldn't be able to eat anything from the buffet!

OOAOML · 26/12/2012 17:00

Tell him! Start a conversation about how stomach bugs spread. I know we are supposed to be polite to in-laws but FGS there is no way I'd be happy to tuck into a buffet (or let my children eat it) that his pissy hands have been over. Mind you, I'd probably be giving DH evils until he said something, my FIL is a bit 'sensitive'

MrsFlibble · 26/12/2012 17:00

That is just so damn vile.

My ex had a mate who did that and used to piss on the seat and leave it, just fucking ewwwwwwww.

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 26/12/2012 17:01

cocktail sausages a la`urine mmmmmm nice

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 26/12/2012 17:17

Your husband needs to speak to him. Or you need to spray him with antibacterial spray every time he comes out of there.

ledkr · 26/12/2012 17:18

Oh how gross. My fil was doing that wee measuring thing one visit and thus had a measuring cup thing in my bathroom. He left it where dd could get hold of it and also didn't wash hands either. Later that day him and mil told me off for letting dds walk about in the pub where we were eating so I told them straight "don't you find that polite? Well neither do I when people don't wash hands and leave the seat up"
Fil looked very guilty

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 26/12/2012 17:21

Grin love that idea. Can't you 'accidentally' slip with a bottle of dettol and spray each hand when he emerges from the toilet?

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 26/12/2012 17:24

My nan does this, I posted before about it, it's vile vile vile and now if I don't here her leave toilet and go into the bathroom I say oo nanny please wash your hands thank you.

It's not just piss its your fanjo or dick touching the food to blurgggh

WhoWhatWhereWhen · 26/12/2012 17:28

Why would he have piss on his hands?

GoodKingWenSOLOslas · 26/12/2012 17:29

EUWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

higgle · 26/12/2012 17:33

If he has a shower in the mornings and if he doesn't piss on his hands why is this EUWWWWWWWWW ?

MrsJourns · 26/12/2012 17:35

This is definitely one for your husband to deal with ASAP.

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 26/12/2012 17:35

WhoWhatWhereWhen It's the piss particles

Aren't you missing a why? Grin

WhoWhatWhereWhen · 26/12/2012 17:38

Just so no one thinks I permanently stink of piss, I always wash my hands when I've been to the toilet but that's only because I sometimes have to touch a toilet lid.

If said lid was already raised I could quite easily have a slash without touching any "bits" and I'm quite skilled at shaking without the need of a hand !! believe me its a great skill to have.

WhoWhatWhereWhen · 26/12/2012 17:43

Hopefully he's not pissing standing up, that's just unhygienic, gross and very unnecessary.

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 26/12/2012 17:46

Because he may have urine on his underpants, when he's fishing out his tadge?

Because of stray pubics?

Most men at least hold the base of their penis which has been nestled in a sweaty warm nest of pubes and pants and growing bacteria.

Because quite a few older men have a shakier aim and may pee on their hands, or dribble a bit more.

Because he'll be touching a toilet seat....

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 26/12/2012 17:49

huh? why would he be pissing sitting down Confused
