To ask whether you think this outifit is for a boy or girl?

I've bought this outfit for my 2yo nephew: www.disneystore.co.uk/mickey-mouse-cardigan-trouser-set/mp/50362/1000112+1000204/

I showed it to some friends last night, and they said it looks like a little girl's outfit.

I'm now wondering whether or not i should return the items, or just give them to my nephew anyway (along with gift receipt) and my SIL can return them if she wants.

Thanks for any opinions.

It would look fine on either.

stephenfriedrice · 23/12/2012 21:51

I would say either aswell.

sausagesandwich34 · 23/12/2012 21:51

it's a boy's

you can tell by which way the trousers fasten but I would have said boy's anyway

AnyaKnowIt · 23/12/2012 21:52

I do like that!

I would buy that for my nephew and for my dd

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/12/2012 21:52

Looks like a lovely outfit to me. I would dress either DS or DD in it.

But then I have no problem with DD wearing DS's hand me downs, so you might want to take that into account. Grin

EuphemiaInExcelsis · 23/12/2012 21:52

Either.

Sirzy · 23/12/2012 21:53

my son is 3 and would love it

LadyBeagleBaublesandBells · 23/12/2012 21:53

It looks fine for a boy and a girl.
The trousers are more boyish, the top for either.
Cute for any 2 year old.

HollyBerryBush · 23/12/2012 21:53

Which way does it button?

if the buttons are on the the right its a boys/unisex, a girls will be on the left

apostrophethesnowman · 23/12/2012 21:54

I would say for a boy or a girl. Traditonally I would say it's more for a boy though.

IncrediblePhatTheInnkeepersCat · 23/12/2012 21:54

I also say either, though I say this with 4 month old DS asleep in a hand-me-down pink sleeping bag and a gift sleep suit which is definitely on the feminine side!

stephenfriedrice · 23/12/2012 21:54

It's a fantastic little outfit Smile

Lowla · 23/12/2012 21:54

Thanks, everyone. I think it's supposed to be unisex, which is why the item description is quite vague (they instead of he/she). My brother and SIL are very blue for boys, pink for girls type of people though, so my friends' comments last night got me a bit worried they won't like it.

Ah well, they can have the receipt anyway and change it if they like.

cocolepew · 23/12/2012 21:55

More boyish.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/12/2012 21:56

I would say either, but if you are a pink for girls, Blue for boys sort of person, then for a boy.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/12/2012 21:56

X posts - will be fine :-)

hugoagogo · 23/12/2012 22:01

I think it's supposed to be for a boy, but would be fine for either.

Startail · 23/12/2012 22:09

Boy given it buttons the opposite way to my trousers.

Cute on either DDs both wore navy trousers and a red teddy bear jumper a lot as toddlers.

pointysettia · 23/12/2012 22:09

I'd say boy, but would have happily put my DDs in it when they were that age as we're not pink for girls. It's cute, in a very American sort of way Smile.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 23/12/2012 22:12

I'd put Ds on it but I'm sure I'd say the same if I had a dd. Its certainly not girly so I can't see why they wouldn't like it.

MammaTJ · 23/12/2012 22:17

Boy, definitely!!

hermioneweasley · 23/12/2012 22:18

In our wonderful world of gender stereotyping for kids it's clearly supposed to be "for boys"; however since the trousers don't show the genitals, I suggest it could be for either.

garlicbaubles · 23/12/2012 22:18

It's got boy/unisex fastenings. I think they said it looks girly because, the way the cardigan's been photographed, it looks waisted. Which, if you think about it, would be completely insane on a top for a two-year-old!

You have daft friends. HTH Xmas Wink

morethanyoubargainfor · 23/12/2012 22:18

Boy for sure.
