Vegetarians don't eat FISH - 3 year olds can grasp this concept, so why are Morrisons struggling with it?

I am coming to this late, but I have only just heard the advert. (There's one thread about it already, but it's just a discussion.)

I would love as many people as possible to phone/email/contact Morrisons and complain (on behalf of us vegetarians, even if you aren't one!)

I rang their Customer Services dept. the woman was lovely, but she hadn't even heard the ad let alone had any complaints, she went to speak to her Manager and when she came back she said there had been 'One or two complaints about it' and that she realised why I was frustrated by it.

I was pleasant and polite, I didn't rant as I wanted to but I did explain that BIG companies like theirs advertising like this makes people think that vegetarians must eat fish and that fish is suitable for vegetarians, so it's OK to put fish/fish products in meals etc. I explained that if it happend to me, I would be very ill.

I said I was amazed that such a BIG company could get an advert so wrong and wondered how it got to air?

I also said that it means I now no longer trust Morrisons labeling for vegetarians and would no longer be shopping there as it's time consuming to read all of the ingredients when you can't trust 'suitable for vegetarians' labeling - much easier to shop at Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose or ASDA - where you can trust their labeling :)

Fish is not suitable for vegetarians. Vegetarians DO NOT eat fish

There is no debate - people who eat fish are NOT vegetarian.

While you are there, complain about the dog in the advert being fed Christmas pudding.

Hopefully, they'll stop showing both, and hire someone decent to do their adverts next year.

They've started to cave under pressure from various vet groups, so any additional support is always appreciated - I've already done the "raisins and grapes are toxic" email but I'll complain about this now.

in the advert i heard, they said non meat eaters, rather than vegetarians. It still thought it was a strange advert though.

It does indeed sound disgusting. Somehow even worse than the Aldi four bird roast. (we've been trying to guess the birds here...so far we have pigeon, vulture, budgie and puffin)

And yes I concur, Morrisons are evidently as thick as fuck.

I was veggie for 15 years and fish was never a part of it.

As for their dog/pudding advert I think they have now withdrawn it - I hope that's correct. Bloody eejits.

Yanbu. It's this kind of thing which makes my life as a veggie so difficult at times, especially at the moment in hospital. Whats the veggie option? Tuna bake. And then a catsbumface when I say I am a vegetarian, I do not eat fish.

Morrison's are going downhill fast. Dp works for them in transport and I keep ranting on saying they should have me sorting the place out. I'd do loads of market research, get rid of those shit blowing air things in the 'Stores of the future' and get more staff on the floor. Plus I could do with a job.
It's such a shame as the staff who are there, at our local one,are great and the products generally are good. Just needs an overhaul and someone with common sense sorting it out. Not some guy who has visions of the new Waitrose

I hate that Xmas ad of Morrisons too. Whinging miserable old cow banging on about how hard Christmas is and making a martyr of herself. Who the hell would watch that advert and think 'I want to be like her, I want to moan and groan and whinge and do everything myself just so I can feel aggrieved about it. I am an unemancipated woman and never dream of asking my husband to do the washing up'.

I really can't stand Morrisons anyway...their sandwiches are dreadful, I mean I can stand there for 10 minutes and not find a single nice thing to eat.

They actually sell a pasta salad thing in a pot, which says it has chicken in it, and when you open it, the chicken is sliced bits, like chicken roll, it just makes you want to put it in the bin.

Don't get me started on the brown lettuce they put in all the other salads, which looks like it came from the bin, and the nastiest cheese ever on their store-made pizzas.

Someone there needs to get a grip.

Oh and their steadfast refusal to put the horror DVDs on the top shelf, so my kids get scared every time they go in there, looking at the covers on the way past.

It's disgusting - I emailed and phoned several times and they did bugger all about it as apparently it's got to be alphabetical order. Bollocks it is - I can never find anything.

It has to be a publicity stunt. I hope!
