I am guessing you have never been to an African/ Caribbean family party or barbecue? coz all the little girls dance like that.

Personally I don't find it appropriate.

Hulababy · 14/12/2012 22:42

No idea on dance ability - not really up with dancing as such - but seems very grown up type of dancing for a little girl.

vivizone · 14/12/2012 22:42

I have, I am African.

quirrelquarrel · 14/12/2012 22:42

amazing sense of rhythm!

vivizone · 14/12/2012 22:43

That's how we dance culturally.

I don't like it either, too 'shake yer booty' for that age.

vivizone · 14/12/2012 22:44

Quirrel, she is much older now and still a fantastic dancer. It is no easy feat dancing like that. I should know :)

Love my African beats.

i've seen much better by much younger.

quirrelquarrel · 14/12/2012 22:45

though LOL at the comments below about her not being thankful- don't they think that maybe a little girl might be totally overwhelmed by all the fuss!

AnyaKnowIt · 14/12/2012 22:46

Really don't mean to sound cruel, but I would not have said that was amazing.

quirrelquarrel · 14/12/2012 22:47

I think it's hard to realise that it's not as simple as it seems!

Santasapunkatheart · 14/12/2012 22:47

I think you are confusing sexual pop star dancing with cultural African dancing. This is the latter and the girl is awfully impressive. I can't dance like that and I have never been able to!

VicarInaTutuDrankSantasSherry · 14/12/2012 22:47

just looked like a lot of arse shaking in a prepubescent girl to me. sorry.

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 14/12/2012 22:47

Whereabouts in africa is that how people dance culturally?

nailak · 14/12/2012 22:48

I have seen better at family weddings and bbqs

apostrophethesnowman · 14/12/2012 22:51

I'm not getting the amazing dancing here, sorry.

vivizone · 14/12/2012 22:52

No need to apologise. Some will get it, some won't.

peppercold · 14/12/2012 22:52

brilliant!

Theicingontop · 14/12/2012 22:53

lol why isn't it appropriate? She isn't gyrating naked, she's dancing fully-clothed, in a non-sexual manner. Moving your body like that takes serious skill, she is demonstrating that skill. There's nothing sexual about it.

choceyes · 14/12/2012 22:54

Yes impressive dancing.

vivizone · 14/12/2012 22:54

Man, Africans have so much rhythm!

OP posts:
HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 14/12/2012 22:55

I have a video clip of everyone dancing at my niece's baptism.

I promise you there is NO violent shaking of arses Grin

choceyes · 14/12/2012 22:56

I can't see anything sexual about it either! Not easy at all to move the body like that

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 14/12/2012 22:56

Africans have so much rhythm?

I invite you to come and attempt to dance with my husband and then repeat that Grin
