A couple of local mums set up a Lego club in the area for children with special needs. They used their own money to set it up and since then have raised a lot more through local charities.

Its a wonderful place where all children, regardless of the severity of their needs can go and play and spend time in a non-judgemental environment and where parents can go and it doens't matter if its their kid throwing the lego about or chewing it.

Yesterday some new people turned up, pretending to be a potential family who were interested in bringing their child. They were actually just there to steal and stole money and cards from one of the women who organises the group, before disappearing.

IMO, that makes you an utter, utter cunt and I hope they are caught. Bastards.

I'm not sure if I believe in heaven/hell/karma/whatever. But if there is firey pits of hell and damnation for all eternity I hope it's for absolute bastards like this. Is the woman ok? Have her cards been stopped? Did the club have money stolen and is there anything we can do to replace what has been stolen?

Not that replacing the material loss helps to make up for the feelings of loss and betrayal that stay with you when you've been stolen from. Utter cunts.

I am steaming on their behalf. Yes the the cards have been stopped and descriptions given to the police. I don't know about CCTV. The place where its run is a bit out of the way and there's been lots of positive publicity given to the club recently, and for someone to see that and use it as an opportunity to steal just takes my breath away.

Its not my club, I take my DS who has SN there and know the organisers well.

I just want to spread the word that there are some people out there who are truly horrible and do horrible things to the people who least deserve it. Pretending to have a kid with SN to steal from people who do is the lowest thing I've heard of in a long time.

also, if you inform the press I'm sure the group will get lots of donations from the public. at least some good could come of it

To everyone offering donations, its really really kind of you, but thats not why I started the thread. I'm just livid and upset on their behalf had to get it out somewhere.
