To want to call on all sufferers of severe morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum to despise Morrissey and his twattish views.

Can't believe what I have just read but here is a direct quote lifted from The Guardian website in an article about his reaction to the death of the nurse at the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated.

" [Morrissey has] called on the duchess to take direct responsibility.

"[She] was in the hospital, as far as I could see, for absolutely no reason," the singer said. "She feels no shame about the death of this woman, she's saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering."

Morrissey has even accused Kate Middleton of being in hospital for spurious reasons, despite doctors diagnosing her with the serious complaint known as hyperemesis gravidarum. "Does she have a health condition?" the singer asked. "Is it anorexia or is it pregnancy? ? I mean morning sickness already? So much hoo haw and then suddenly as bright as a button as soon as this poor woman dies she's out of hospital? It doesn't ring true."

I am so angry about his attitude, not just to the Duchess, but towards all women who suffer in pregnancy. What an utter wanker.

Morrisey is a twat.

toweraboveyou · 12/12/2012 18:13

I dont think it was even suicide. I think the royals killed her at kate's request.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 18:15

Is that what morrisey said tower or you?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 12/12/2012 18:19

CabbageLeaves - ex lead singer of the Smiths. Wrote some fantastic songs, now, sadly a dickhead

toweraboveyou · 12/12/2012 18:26

Me.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 18:28

Not really the topic to be joking though is it tower Confused

Oblomov · 12/12/2012 18:29

He is very ignorant. What a idiot.
You wouldn't wish HG on your worst enemy, would you? He is such a pratt.

FreudiansSlipper · 12/12/2012 18:42

i must be the only one amused it is such a ridiculous thing to say

exactly what he wants everyone up in arms at this shock statement

PenelopeChipShop · 12/12/2012 18:44

It's astonishing that he has managed to turn a tragedy of this order into an opportunity to spout his ridiculous views on the monarchy. He doesn't have to like them but really, blaming an ill pregnant woman for a set of tragic circumstances brought about mainly by press hysteria is a new low.

I know someone who interviewed him a few years back - she was a massive fan, had seen him in concert upwards if 50 times - really idolised him. Even she had to admit after meeting him that she was hugely disappointed. I could tell it pained her to say it but it was true!

toweraboveyou · 12/12/2012 18:50

I wasnt joking. I've heard that she really kicked off...

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 18:51

Riiiiiight.

You've heard Hmm

toweraboveyou · 12/12/2012 18:53

Yes I have. Which is all anybody here has really done.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 18:55

Erm I've not come across anybody that's heard that?

So what exactly are you saying then? I'm confused.

MincePiesAddict · 12/12/2012 18:58

A. He's never been pregnant. How would he know anyway?

B. He's not a health professional. How would he know anyway?

C. If no one went into hospital then most nurses wouldn't be able to make a living in the first place.

GwendolineMaryLacedwithBrandy · 12/12/2012 19:01

Fuckwit

Still, ian Hislop should be happy. For years now ian would have got the only bullet I had. Now it'd be Morrisey up against the wall.

RedToothbrush · 12/12/2012 19:06

YABU.

For expecting anything that comes out of Morrissey's gob to be anything other than twatty.

He's a right regular gobshite who regularly comes out with deliberately provokative drivel to gain publicity and prove just how anti-establishment and anti-royal he is his obsessive die hard core of fans who have still to see him for what an obnoxious cunt he really and truly is.

Sure he made great music in the past, but on a list of famous people to have dinner with, he gets a place on my list somewhat below Peter Andre.

LtXmasEve · 12/12/2012 19:15

What a whiney arsed wanker that excuse for a man is. Twat.

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/12/2012 22:11

If there's one thing we can surely all agree on it's that whatever Morrissey says,it's likely he's being an utter fuckwit.

I loved loads of the Smiths songs, but if he walked into the room right now I'd cheerfully break my knuckles on his face. Utterly ignorant twat.

Yellowtip · 12/12/2012 22:34

toweraboveyou what an incredibly stupid, mindless thing to say - and what, for a laugh? Two children have lost their mother over this you know. Perhaps you missed that.

To the rest of you, despite being totally clear that Morrissey is banging his usual political drum, he doesn't seem to be saying that hg isn't serious. He simply seems to be saying that Kate is suffering from ordinary levels of morning sickness and making it into a bigger deal than she should. Fine for him of course, since he clearly can't know how numbing 'ordinary' morning sickness is - but not worth the castration/ death threats surely? Interesting article anyhow. Why is there the add on at the end?

wongadotmom · 12/12/2012 23:05

I suffered severe morning sickness with DD1.

But Morrissey and his songs helped me through it.

He has helped me through all kinds of shit, especially this past year.

I still love you Mozzer x

BungerBear · 12/12/2012 23:14

Because Yellowtip, 'morning sickness' as a term is erroneous. It is known as nausea and vomitting in pregnancy or NVP. Morning sickness just trivialises the condition.

He says that KM is in hospital for absolutely no reason that he can see. And 'doubts' whether she has any illness at all. After listening to the news articles surrounding KM and her condition, he still doubted whether she was ill? Perhaps thats why people with a largely ignored condition are angry. He has also cynically turned the whole tragic affair into an attention grabbing exercise, which frankly is despicable and fairly low.

I cannot be bothered with Morrissey's opinions but it is yet another example of people being 'entitled' to their opinions but not 'responsible' for them. Nevermind hey?

Yellowtip · 12/12/2012 23:52

It could be attention grabbing or it could be that he genuinely believes what he says and feels strongly about it. The comments in the Guardian suggest that he's not totally alone. I just don't see that it's about the seriousness of hg at all. Maybe I'm missing something. I've suffered from really bad morning sickness in ten pregnancies so I'm unlikely to advocate trivialising any form of morning sickness - it's dire.

giraffesCantFlyLikeReindeer · 12/12/2012 23:54

How awful!! Never had HG - just "normal" morning sickness. But have had labyrinthitis - nausea, sickness, dizzyness constantly for months!! So I can empathise on some levels with HG sufferers and have often said so on here. Infact that is how pavlov and I bonded on here!
