To want to call on all sufferers of severe morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum to despise Morrissey and his twattish views.

Can't believe what I have just read but here is a direct quote lifted from The Guardian website in an article about his reaction to the death of the nurse at the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated.

" [Morrissey has] called on the duchess to take direct responsibility.

"[She] was in the hospital, as far as I could see, for absolutely no reason," the singer said. "She feels no shame about the death of this woman, she's saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering."

Morrissey has even accused Kate Middleton of being in hospital for spurious reasons, despite doctors diagnosing her with the serious complaint known as hyperemesis gravidarum. "Does she have a health condition?" the singer asked. "Is it anorexia or is it pregnancy? ? I mean morning sickness already? So much hoo haw and then suddenly as bright as a button as soon as this poor woman dies she's out of hospital? It doesn't ring true."

I am so angry about his attitude, not just to the Duchess, but towards all women who suffer in pregnancy. What an utter wanker.

Very good point CatPuss Grin

TheCraicDealer · 12/12/2012 14:13

Poor Morrissey.

Maybe he'll write a song about it?

PickledInAPearTree · 12/12/2012 14:17

Morrissey is the human personification of severe morning sickness. Why dosent he just fuck off!

Whocansay · 12/12/2012 14:20

I SO used to like his music, but he is so determined to be an utter arse, I can no longer listen to it.

He's giving me an urge to eat fois gras whilst wearing a fur coat. Twat.

shuffleballchange · 12/12/2012 14:21

What an ignorant cunt.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 14:25

' morrisey is the human personification of severe morning sickness '

He's not that nice. Grin

HenriettaTurkey · 12/12/2012 14:27

My cousin and I both suffered bad HG. She just sent me this link with the advisory: WARNING: IT WILL MAKE YOU REALLY CROSS!

She was right.

He is an idiot.

PS - Hi Cuz!! Xmas Wink

DameFannyGallopsBEHINDyou · 12/12/2012 14:37

Damn I used to love the smiths.

KM should just cut out the middleman and vomit on him directly.

redlac · 12/12/2012 14:50

MerryLegs I've just snorted tea out my nose at your post!

I love Morrissey for his songs and NOT his opinions but yes he is a twat but he really does fucking hate the Royal Family

ihaverunoutofnicknameideas · 12/12/2012 14:55

Agree these comments are extremely unfair and cruel to Kate....BUT....as redlac says above Morrissey is renowned for being absolutely staunchly anti-Royal & anti-establishment and it is just possible he does not actually fully believe everything he says and is doing it to just cause a controversy!!

FatherReboolaConundrum · 12/12/2012 14:56

YABU for restricting your call to those with morning sickness. I'm not pregnant but I'd happily puke on the fucker.

RandallPinkFloyd · 12/12/2012 14:59

Hopefully the duchess suffering will bring HG more into the public view and educate people

Unfortunately I have a horrible feeling that this will actually do the opposite.

She will be proclaimed as being precious and pampered because of who she is. The sort of comments the rest of us HG sufferer's got will be aimed at her with even more venom.

You won't ever stop the "women have been having babies since the dawn of time, the rest of us just get on with it" or the "I had morning sickness, I didn't have a choice, I had to suck it up and go to work".

Or the especially lovely "hospital? for morning sickness?" accompanied by a particularly lovely eye-roll.

It's not a condition that's understood by anyone who doesn't have direct experience of it. I would love to think that will change but I seriously doubt it, especially when there are huge swathes of medical professionals who still don't believe it exists.

Pretty much all pregnancy related conditions are treated with similar contempt.

I wish I understood why but all I can come up with is that because pregnancy is a natural part of life and because most of the unpleasant bits are a bit grim but cope-able with people think that anyone with more serious complications is a hypochondriac.

They seem to feel bitter that they had a bad back/sore ribs/morning sickness/pelvic pain etc but coped with it whereas other people who they presume to have the same issues are being looked after and treated as though ill.

I feel very sorry for Kate. She will in equal measure be called all sorts for "being so royal she can't even throw-up without getting 5* treatment", and be expected to be some sort of poster girl and advocate for HG sufferers everywhere.

Just let the poor woman get on with being pregnant and having her baby.

HoHoHokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 12/12/2012 14:59

I was just about to day what FatherReboola said, let's not limit is to sufferers of
severe morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum.

I'm not pregnant and i still think he is a massive arsehole.

SnowProbs · 12/12/2012 15:02

Another reason to hate that fucking twat of a man.

Hypermesis laid me up for 5 months. I lost a stone in the first trimester and couldnt even swallow water at one stage.

I cannot stand the Royals, but Morrissey's rant is pathetic.

GilmoursPillow · 12/12/2012 15:02

I don't usually condone violence, but I would very much like to punch him in the cock.

That made me laugh!

And yep, Morrissey's a cock.

Moominsarescary · 12/12/2012 15:03

Agree with Randal

I would happily throw up on him, I could even wee on him when the sickness is especially bad

RudolphiaRedNose · 12/12/2012 15:09

FGS, surely Morrissey has noticed that he's never had kids and hasn't a fucking clue what morning sickness or HG is like? Arrogant misogynist tosspot.

I'm not a royalist by any means but I feel really protective about poor kate. Being protected and able to rest and have privacy and not be baited is so important for her now. The whole tragic situation is the last thing she needs and I really think they should have tried to keep it all quiet. None of what has happened would have happened if she's been able to be treated secretly and the press had butted out.

I've tried to ignore some of Mozzer's outrageous comments/believe some of his defences in the past but I'm afraid that's it. My 16-year-old self would be horrified but I now officially can't be doing with the twat.

SnowProbs · 12/12/2012 15:12

Punching him in the cock sounds worryingly satisfying...but I'll go with chucking up on him, I think. A nice splash of acidic green bile should hopefully shut him up! He can have my pregnancy piles, too, if he likes.

BeaWheesht · 12/12/2012 15:16

So many people think like this though. I had HG in my first pregnancy - people still say 'oh well at least it wasn't anything serious just morning sickness'

NoKnidForABed · 12/12/2012 15:17

It just shows what an ignorant arse he is. No surprise there then!

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter · 12/12/2012 15:31

Agree with all the above! He's an annoying, self-absorbed, attention seeker who says ridiculous things because it's the only way he can get anyone to notice him nowadays. Oh, and he should buy bigger shirts; if I see another photo of his flabby belly straining against fabric that is two sizes too small I'll vomit and I'm not even pregnant.

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 12/12/2012 15:36

Morrissey, you are an ignoramus. Shut up please.

curlypoo · 12/12/2012 15:42

I have had HG and for what it is worth even if Duchess of Cambridge didn't have it they would say she did. Seriously can you imagine the Duke driving her from her parents house into central London if she had HG??? People would pay good money for pics of her barfing out of the window! I am not saying she hasn't got HG but she did look very chipper just a couple of days before, I could never have done that when I had it. When she does so little it is in their press office's interests to dramatise the situation. Morissey is a daft bugger but I do love him anyway.

valiumredhead · 12/12/2012 15:45

What does he mean 'morning sickness already?' Twat

I felt awful from almost day one, I was green and my friends were concerned because I looked so dire. Ffs.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 12/12/2012 15:49

Well quite, Valium. I thought it was fairly well known morning sickness is commonly but not exclusively first trimester - when you haven't told work you're PG and they just think you're hungover.

Err, for example. Xmas Grin
