To want to call on all sufferers of severe morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum to despise Morrissey and his twattish views.

Can't believe what I have just read but here is a direct quote lifted from The Guardian website in an article about his reaction to the death of the nurse at the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated.

" [Morrissey has] called on the duchess to take direct responsibility.

"[She] was in the hospital, as far as I could see, for absolutely no reason," the singer said. "She feels no shame about the death of this woman, she's saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering."

Morrissey has even accused Kate Middleton of being in hospital for spurious reasons, despite doctors diagnosing her with the serious complaint known as hyperemesis gravidarum. "Does she have a health condition?" the singer asked. "Is it anorexia or is it pregnancy? ? I mean morning sickness already? So much hoo haw and then suddenly as bright as a button as soon as this poor woman dies she's out of hospital? It doesn't ring true."

I am so angry about his attitude, not just to the Duchess, but towards all women who suffer in pregnancy. What an utter wanker.

A friend of mine used to work with him too. Friend thinks he is a deeply unpleasant individual doesn't have a very good opinion of him either

ChunkyPickle · 12/12/2012 13:44

What a jerk.

And I wouldn't have described her as bright as a button when she came out of hospital - I got the distinct impression of gritted teeth willing herself to get away from the damn cameras to somewhere she could rest.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 12/12/2012 13:46

Indeed, Chunky. That was a strained smile and I suspect the flowers under her nose were not helping

DrRanj · 12/12/2012 13:46

Bellend.

silverfrog · 12/12/2012 13:46

what an arse.

I had HG with my first 2 pregnancies. It is truly awful. but once you have been rehydrated you do (for a few, brief but very welcome) hours feel a LOT better.

my twat of a boss at the time didn't belive me - it made everything so much more stressful.

Ignorant pig. I didn't have HG, but I felt so sick I couldn't move. The Duchess must have been very ill to go to hospital.Constant sickness is dreadful. Such arrogance!

LRDtheFeministDude · 12/12/2012 13:50

What a nasty misogynistic idiot.

Why should KM feel 'shame' for something she must've had no idea about until after it happened because she was busy being seriously ill?

FFS.

EverythingsDozy · 12/12/2012 13:51

It sounds like he thinks she went into hospital to cause someone to kill themselves Confused
Where he says that once the nurse had killed herself, she came out. Yeah, because this was exactly her aim and now she has done it she can come out. Hmm
She was in hospital because she had HG, a condition no man has ever been through, never will and will never know the implications of. If it isn't hard enough throwing up every two minutes despite there being absolutely NOTHING in there, you have the worry of your unborn baby too.

Anyway, what diagnosis can a jumped up mediocre singer make?? Paging Dr Morrissey, you can fuck off now.

ReindeerHooves · 12/12/2012 13:53

What a dickhead.

HG is cyclical, when you're rehydrated you feel (and look) a lot better until you start puking again and get dehydrated again. I'm sure I won't be far off the mark in thinking that a lot of the DoC's healthy look came out of a make up bag anyway.

I don't think anyone, the royal family, the hosptial, the radio station responsible, anyone - could have forseen that the poor woman who took the call would take her own life. I don't think you can blame anyone for it and I rather suspect there was more going on in her life than just this.

It's a terribly sad story all round. There's no need for has beens with REALLY annoying singing voices to put their two pence worth in at all.

MisselthwaiteManor · 12/12/2012 13:54

I hope she vomits into a jiffy bag and posts it to him.

Merrylegs · 12/12/2012 13:54

It's so easy to laugh. It's so easy to hate. It takes guts to be gentle and kind.......

maleview70 · 12/12/2012 13:55

If you read more of his comments, he absolutely hates the royal family and will say anything about them to back up his feelings. Alot of it is to do with how the royals use hunting animals as a sport which I agree with him about and also their use and outspoken praise of the delights of fois gras, the production of which is deemed by many to be extremely cruel.

Morrissey is becoming more outspoken the older he gets. I am surprised he royals haven't ordered a hit on him to be honest!

samandi · 12/12/2012 13:56

Another vote for massive twat here. Not only does he sound like a petulant misogynist but ignorant to boot.

Hopefully the duchess suffering will bring HG more into the public view and educate people as sadly Morrisey's views on that are reflective of quite a few people who don't know enough about the condition!

Sadly I agree. I've heard several similar comments from friends that are actually otherwise fairly intelligent. Just rather lacking in general knowledge, especially of medical matters, and a bit to quick to jump on the "surely it can't be that bad, that woman must be faking it" bandwagon.

TunipTheVegedude · 12/12/2012 13:56

I think they should bring back beheading for treason, but only when it's Morrissey.

ReindeerHooves · 12/12/2012 13:58

Oh and also wanted to add, I started throwing up at 5 weeks and was in full blown HG mode by 7 weeks. The only way I stayed out of hospital was because I could lie, very still indeed, on the sofa for the majority of every day while dd1 was at school/cm. If I moved, I was sick. I was very quite overweight at the time and my midwife commented that it was probably a good thing I was, as I lost a lot of weight as the pregnancy progressed. KM is so thin anyway (for reasons which may well not to be with an eating disorder I'm sure) that the impact of not being able to hold any food down will be far harder on her than it was on me.

I don't usually condone violence, but I would very much like to punch him in the cock.

Can someone explain why this cock's man's opinion is being reported? What has he got to do with it.

Wow. What a dumb arse.

GrimmaTheNome · 12/12/2012 14:03

I didn't have bad morning sickness, but having seen someone who suffered from it I joined the thread to suggest what MsElle did in the first response to the OP.

If Kate Middleton isn't saying much that's perhaps out of respect - the tragedy really isn't about her at all. Perhaps she's not one of those people who insist on making themselves the story... like twattish 'celebs' who have to pontificate about matters about which they are profoundly ignorant, for instance.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 12/12/2012 14:06

Shoot the fucker.

What a dick.

And to think I loved The Smiths in my yoof.

ThursdayWillBeTheDay · 12/12/2012 14:09

He is a big fan of the Kray twins as well.

(even Stuart Maconie who loves him said he was a twat for sending flowers to whichever one died's funeral)

Bet he spends all week phoning up the other Smiths and saying "looooook lads, if Gareh Bahlow can do it soooooo can we".

Twat.

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 12/12/2012 14:10

I think they should bring back beheading for treason, but only when it's Morrissey.

Actually, the punishment for treason for a commoner was hanging, drawing and quartering! but still appropriate HTH! Grin
