TeeBee · 03/12/2012 22:20

No, its not. And its also the biggest pile of crap. Has he seen it??

Dominodonkey · 03/12/2012 22:21

YANBU.
I don't think a film that includes references to inserting vegetables into genitals (amongst other things) is suitable for an 11 year old.

There are a couple of old threads about the film too. I remember one person saying her sixteen year old went to see it and was shocked by it.

daddyorchipsdaddyorchips · 03/12/2012 22:21

It is REALLY not suitable for an 11 year old. It was barely suitable for me and I'm 30 21!

Itsaboatjack · 03/12/2012 22:22

Oh I thought it was very funny. But soo not suitable for an 11 yr old,

WilsonFrickett · 03/12/2012 22:22

I liked it but completely unsuitable for an 11 yo. However, if he has only seen the trailer he maybe doesn't know how unsuitable it is, the tv trailers were very heavily cut.

squeakytoy · 03/12/2012 22:24

Definitely not suitable for an 11 year old. I thought it was funny but it is most definitely for adults or older teens.

HorraceTheChristmasOtter · 03/12/2012 22:28

YANBU! I did like it though.

FrillyMummy · 03/12/2012 22:30

YANBU. It's a gross film! For an 11yo?? No fear!

McChristmasPants2012 · 03/12/2012 22:36

Yanbu, I have seen the film and with strong reference to drugs and sex it's not suitable for an 11

KateByChristmas · 03/12/2012 22:45

It's hilarious Grin but really not a film for an 11 yo Hmm maybe that's why he asked?

musicalendorphins · 04/12/2012 03:43

He has problems if he thinks an 11 should see that film.

Yanbu.

TheCatInTheHairnet · 04/12/2012 04:01

15? Yes. 11, no.

2blessed · 04/12/2012 04:06

I agree with you OP

ripsishere · 04/12/2012 04:07

We've got it. My 11.7 DD has seen 10 minutes of it.
She won't be seeing the rest till she's at least 15.
I had no idea how strong some of it is. I thought the ten minutes I saw was funny(ish) but if I don't see the rest till she is of an age I won't be upset.

PPT · 04/12/2012 04:13

Just watched it on a flight.. definitely not suitable... I thought it was pretty grim [am quite prudish though.]

zippey · 04/12/2012 04:19

At first, given the films name and theme I though YWBU but looking at IMDB, no YANBU and the film would seem suitable for those aged 17 plus. Heres a link to the parental advisory guide for Ted on IMDB

ripsishere · 04/12/2012 04:31

Interesting spread of ages there zippy.

zippey · 04/12/2012 12:21

It is, isnt it? 8/10 for sex/nudity, 6/10 for violence and a whopping 10/10 for swear words

AboutThyme · 04/12/2012 12:25

Oh god no, not an 11 yo. My neice was very shocked by it and she is nearly 16.

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 04/12/2012 12:25

Good god. No, just no.

We have children of this age at school who are really into this and Family Guy, and it so so so wrong, some of the stuff they come out with, with no understanding at all.

Also, its really crap.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/12/2012 12:26

Interesting. I havent seen it but my 10 YO DS is desperate for it. Maybe not yes then hey :)

perplexedpirate · 04/12/2012 12:33

Hells no! Unless of course you are ok with your 11 year old watching jokes about a prostitute taking a crap on the floor.

That said, DH and I both thought it was hilares.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/12/2012 12:39

Mmmmm, maybe not!Shock

WilsonFrickett · 04/12/2012 12:42

It's about a talking bear, so when they edited the trailer for a TV audience (ie no swearing, sex etc) it looked totally harmless and child appropriate. So I can understand DCs wanting to watch it, but it's not suitable at all.

I laughed a lot too perplexed and DH and I still have fun trying to say 'parsnips' in a Boston accent.

valiumredhead · 04/12/2012 12:48

DS says loads of his mates have seen it and he's 11. Sometimes I wonder if I should just give up and let ds do whatever he wants as it seems so many parents do just that! Not suitable for an 11 yr old at ALL.
