Valium - to be fair the swearing doesn't bother me as DS is old enough now to have heard it all anyway but knows not to repeat it. Dunno, think it's the sex stuff I would object him seeing........I will def NOT get it for him but I bet you some of his mates will get it and he will end up seeing it somewhere!

ENormaSnob · 04/12/2012 12:56

Totally and utterly inappropriate for an 11 year old.

I would have huge concerns if her father has seen this and thinks its suitable.

valiumredhead · 04/12/2012 13:35

betty the swearing would be the least of my problems too, except he said most of his mates have seen Bad Teacher and that is shocking and use of the c word.

old fogey

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 04/12/2012 13:48

i havent seen it but when it was out in the cinema, i saw so many children going to see that... and we're talking 7 & 8 year olds... their parents were taking them for a "treat".

i was so Shock as i know its not suitable. madness!!

valiumredhead · 04/12/2012 13:49

How were that getting into the cinema? It's a 15, isn't it?

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/12/2012 13:49

Valium - we have all seen Bad Teacher in our house.....can't say I remember excessive swearing in it though!

I dont see how 7 and 8 year olds could see Ted though, it's a 15!

valiumredhead · 04/12/2012 13:51

betty seriously? Dh's and my jaw were on the floor!

i dont think cinemas can do anything about it if the parents give permission for their child to see it

dishwashervodkaanddietirnbru · 04/12/2012 14:32

if it is a 15 certificate then the cinema can refuse admission to children under the age of 15 regardless of what the parent says. It is only 12A certification that leaves it to the parent's discretion as to whether the child can see it or not under the age of 12 (and the child would then have to be accompanied by an adult to see it)

dishwashervodkaanddietirnbru · 04/12/2012 14:34

p.s. They seem to have a 15A certificate and a 16 certificate in Ireland but not in the rest of the UK

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/12/2012 14:42

The cinema would not let an 8 year old in to see a 15 film. What would the point of viewing certificates be if they did.

12a would let an 8 year old in but not a 15!

sausagesandwich34 · 04/12/2012 15:02

spoken to him again

he's never seen it but thought it was a teen film with a bear in it so for a mature 11 yo (which she is) he thought it would be ok

thank god he mentioned it without just going ahead and buying it!
