Went shopping yesteerday.ds1. Jas a blu badge so we parked in a disabled space.went to shops and back to car couple of hours later. We have 4 dcs and the baby 7 mths started screaming and was hungry.by then the car park was packd. I started to feed ds while dh got other dcs in car and an elderly couple drove past and politely asked if we were leaving, dh said sorry not yet then 2 other drivers did the same but the fourth stopped got out and said please could we hurry up, I explained that when I had fed ds we would be going but she was really angry and said a disabled space is not just for sitting in that we should go immediately. I was only another ten mins fding ds it is hard enough going out as all dcs have same condition and ds2 was really screaming I had to feed him as it was a long drive home. Was I being unreasonable?

No-one said you are a vile fuckwit. What a lot of people are saying is that your, so far unsupported assertions of authority, demonstrate many fundamental errors which detract from your credibility. That what you are saying, in many people's opinions, needs to be challenged or justified precisely because it actually potentially increases difficulties for disabled people and their carers. Something which clearly everyone or nearly everyone on this thread cares about.

I'm not even bothering with a glass.

fluffypillow · 04/12/2012 21:47

YANBU op. Can't actually believe someone would be so rude when you were feeding your lo. It's really heartless.

Bird, They mean entirely diferent things she may as well have written different words. FWIW I don't believe anyone could read enough legislation first time, to interpret, apply and understand it in this short a time. I have however, told you to go the disability rights movement publications which are more succinct. If you wanna come and work with me as my research assistant sometime, you'd be more than welcome and I'll show you everthing I have. I suggested google as the most accessible search tool anyone with a modicum of understanding about research knows what is reliable and what is not. Someone else has already suggested Europa, but search terms need to be specific

What terms are you offering?

NolittleBuddahsorTigerMomshere · 04/12/2012 21:52

So offered, which stage? As you are [so rightly proud]

Offred · 04/12/2012 21:52

I'm second year undergraduate degree studying with 4 children at home ages 3, 3, 6 and 7. So very happy as have worked so hard for it. Don't pretend to be a fount' of knowledge about disability law but I do have confidence in my understanding of the legal system. To be fair I've never claimed to know about disability law just to read the sources someone claiming to know about it says support their point....

I don't think I'm going to practise law as a solicitor or barrister. It would stress me out. I would like to do research or welfare rights.

AndABigBirdInaPearTree · 04/12/2012 21:52

Thanks Sabrina, but I am full after drinking the despised minty hot chocolate and the spinach quiche I had for lunch.

Afrodizzywonders · 04/12/2012 21:52

I really need a drink now, a marguerita would be lovely....

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 04/12/2012 21:52

Sabrina, you are my kinda girl!
