Purple2012 · 28/11/2012 23:11

SarkyWench · 28/11/2012 23:12

But isn't that unfair on the one with the shorter name?

I think your husband is jealous because he didn't get one

foslady · 28/11/2012 23:54

I'm 40 something and my mum still gets me one.

Well, re started getting me one.

She started buying them for the dgc and my (older) dsis complained that we were being left out.

StateofConfusion · 29/11/2012 00:02

Yanbu,

Favouritism, MUM, I don't care if my siblings are 4 and 7 and I'm 24, buy me an advent dammit, and not that kinnerton shite the dcs accept, lindt cadburys at the very least.

KurriKurri · 29/11/2012 00:16

I've got a Thornton's one for DD (23 at the end of Dec) with her name iced on it too, I haven't told DH because he would give me the eye rolling routine, he doesn't understand such matters.

PurpleTinsel · 29/11/2012 00:28

Oooh.

How did I not know that Thorntons do chocolate advent calendars?

DudeInaTutu · 29/11/2012 00:32

dh has one, he's 42. As do the 27 year old, 17 year old and 16 year old twins!

OddBoots · 29/11/2012 07:46

I get those ones, not only for my dc but also one for dh, my mum, my dad and my grandma (and one for me too :D) I'd love to get one for my brother but he can't have chocolate so thanks to the lovely people on here I found a Haribo one to import form Germany. I sent some lindt ones to friends and zhu zhu pets ones to my god-daughters.

I do love advent calendars, especially goodie filled ones and I don't care if anyone gets cat-bum mouth with me.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 29/11/2012 07:51

DH bought me one with my name on it.

I'm 34. I hope he will continue to buy them for me.

You are never to old for a thorntons advent calendar with your name on it.

catgirl1976 · 29/11/2012 09:36

My mum still does this for me........ I am 36 :)

PurpleTinsel · 30/11/2012 23:59

Well. I'm very disappointed now.

I went to Thornton's after work today - and they "can't do any personalised icing at the moment". Boo.

Surely they should make sure that, at all times, at least one member of on-duty staff should be trained in how to ice someone's name onto the chocolates?

DudeInaTutu · 01/12/2012 00:42

yah boo sucks! thats terrible purple - its not rocket science. takes all of 30 seconds....!

go back when there is an icing expert on hand....chistmas isnt christmas without a thorntons advent calender

I'm 20 and my gran sent me one in the post today!

MamaBear17 · 01/12/2012 19:37

my mum still gets me one now. im 29!

KenLeeeeeee · 01/12/2012 19:50

I bought DH a Marvel Avengers one. He's 35!

Nobody got me one the fuckers so I think I'll treat myself to a naice Thorntons one.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 01/12/2012 19:54

I'm 31 and this is the first year my mum hasn't bought me one Sad

DP suggested we just buy one, but it wouldn't be the same - normally she gets it for my birthday (mid November). I'm bfing, too, so the chocolate would be guilt free Sad

Ilovewaleswhenitrains · 01/12/2012 19:54

I bought a Thorntons advent calendar for my children - 13 and 20. They were 3 for 2, so I had the spare third one. My first advent calendar for years.
