d0oin I think she's getting a hard time because of the attitude rather than the actual act.
But I still don't agree with dying a 3 year olds hair tbh.

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 13:58

by the way im not sayin bottle feeding is bad its the example of what people could say

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/11/2012 13:58

Nor do I really but the reactions she got were OTT. It's no surprise she got defensive. She sounds very young.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/11/2012 13:59

I formula fed my youngest. For my own reasons. The thing is, if I didn't, he would not have had any food. If you don't dye your sons hair, then he just doesn't have red hair. That's the bloody obvious difference.

Fair enough d0oin

It just seems like one of those threads where it's either a complete wind up or an OP that refuses to listen to anyone's opinion.

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 14:00

what do you want me to say o ok then sorry i will change now ?

No, but you asked for an opinion. You got opinions. You didn't like it.

You are going to get people who disagree with what you did. You must know that.

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 14:04

mrswolowits my mum dyed mine n all my brothers n sisters a few times n nothing bad happen
yer i compared it to them things cuz it makes sense to me

tantrums about 3 people have said anythin about the woman ......

OP posts:
Stropzilla · 24/11/2012 14:06

I bottle feed because my boobs don't produce the food DD needs. I don't dye my kids hair because I think it looks chavvy. My choice. Yours is different abduction while I think it is not appropriate I would not say anything because I would expect the abusive reaction you gave. Judge silently? You bet. You wbu to swear at her.

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/11/2012 14:07

OP, you might get a better response if you use real words and sentences. MNetters can get a bit huffy about grammar and spelling. My sister uses a similar language to you, but even so it still makes my head hurt trying to decipher it.

Are you northern? I've only ever heard 'yer' being used oop north.

Stropzilla · 24/11/2012 14:07

Abduction? ? Stupid phone. I meant "and", obviously.

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 14:08

stropz my point is that if some1 came up to you n said it was wrong then would u be annoyed or what ?

OP posts:
TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/11/2012 14:09

Ok. The woman is irelevant tbh.

Dying a 3 year olds hair is AFAIK quite unusual.
So it may cause attention.
So I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that people are going to comment on it whilst you are out.

Is it her place to comment? Maybe not. But that's going to happen. People will comment.

When you put it out onto the Internet, again people will comment.
Either be prepared to take it on board or don't. It's up to you.

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 14:10

doinmecleanin no not northern i mean yeh
dont think it should matter i am not the best at english not at all

This thread has cheered my right up!

OP, if you're for real I suspect that people may comment on all sorts of aspects of your life in the future.

If you are messing around, well done!

Stropzilla · 24/11/2012 14:12

If they swore at me yes I would be. It all depends on how it was said and what I was doing. I jokingly asked my hairdresser to dye my child's hair and she politely declined telling me it wasn't good for her. I did not take offence! I only asked to see her reaction but she was so nice about it. The point is even tho everyone here has told you it's not a good idea you want to pretend it is.

gobbin · 24/11/2012 14:13

Don't forget to take a picture of him to embarrass him with on his wedding day... he'll probably be mortified that you did this to him at an age when he had no choice.

TroublesomeEx · 24/11/2012 14:14

Is this real?

Just in case it is, OP you do realise that everyone is taking the piss don't you?

my mum dyed mine n all my brothers n sisters a few times n nothing bad happen I would beg to differ.

FivesAndNorks · 24/11/2012 14:15

Who is the OP then?

TysonsMummy · 24/11/2012 14:16

that womans the 1st ever to say anything about the dye until this thread

OP posts:
TidyDancer · 24/11/2012 14:16

Oh dear. Seriously for a moment (and giving you the benefit of the doubt that this might be completely true), this thread is now hundreds of posts long. The massively overwhelming majority of people have told you that you are wrong to colour your DS's hair. You still think you were right (presumably?), so really if you weren't open to being told that, why post on this board?!

You were also abusive to the woman who (quite rightly) said something to you about colouring your DS's hair.

You are very much in the wrong here. The answer to your original question is yes, YWBU. You were U in your reaction, you were U in colouring the hair to begin with, and you are U to continue defending such a stupid action.
