To have left it this late to start my Christmas shopping?

So everybody I have spoken to is fully organised for Christmas. Presents bought, wrapped and parts of the dinner cooked then frozen for the big day.

I haven't started anything yet! Not even my Christmas cards.

Please tell me I'm not the only unprepared one?

You might have a reason to be worried if it was Xmas Eve, but its a bit early to be panicking. I like shopping in December anyway, it gets me in the Xmas mood!

our asda has a lovely tree in it informing me of how many sleeps it is till christmas- we are still in the 30s you've got loads of time!!

I am normally one of those annoying people who have it all done, I dont this year Im working cant be arsed

It's earlier than the 20th dec which is when ive been known to start panic

We've been as late as Christmas eve before. It's actually really quiet in the shops & lots of reductions lol.

I've bought all kids bar one thing for my ds, just adults to go.

Phew. Was beginning to think that I was the only one who hasn't started yet! Everybody who I've spoken to thinks I'm mad to be leaving it this late ... some even said they bought their gifts for this Christmas at the beginning of the year. Mental!

Shopping wise, I've got a few bits & pieces for the DCs but everything else is waiting until payday next week. I do have cards mind you, I bought them last January for 10p a pack .

This is about the time I usually start doing stuff - writing cards for overseas delivery, shopping online so I don't have to panic about delivery etc.

I always secretly think that people who do it all in October can't have much else to do (but then I'm probably jealous of their organisation!).

Now disorganised is when I was in my 20s and used to rush up and down the high street in a panic on the day before Christmas Eve . . .

Yes was in Asda yesterday and the counter thing stated 32 sleeps till christmas!!

I have done 2 house moves close to christmas in previous years, one on the 15th and one on the 20th December.

My christmas shopping both times didn't start until after we'd moved in and settled in and with the 20th December house we had to decorate and carpet the living room first so shopping was done last minute on christmas eve.

We still managed it!!!

But it's more than a month away. It takes two days. Alll shall be well. Don't panic :)

I have the dc sorted but no one else. I leave dc wrapping for xmas eve with carols and bailys to keep me company.

depends how much you have to do/how many people to arrange for etc.

i buy/decorate a tree, send 10 xmas cards, buy for dp, mum and dad and buy a duck for xmas dinner. takes me an afternoon around the 15th dec. nothing else changes for us.

I've finished my Christmas shopping and also have extra for next Christmas due to poor impulse control on amazon Black Friday deals!!

But cooking already?! Christmas dinner is essentially a big roast, it's easy. I've never understood the panic and quite enjoy cooking the meal whilst getting sloshed watching the dc's play with their new toys. And we only eat leftovers after the day itself anyway - turkey curry, stir fry, sandwiches .... No wonder it's the only time we eat turkey!

Don't panic. The Christmas lights are all getting turned on, shops starting to play Christmas tunes, Christmas markets selling beer and wine. It's the perfect time to start your Christmas shopping!! It's not as much fun in oct/nov!

I'm another one who has done jack shite Don't intend to either until two weeks before. Mind you it's probably due to my DS going to his dad's for Xmas (first time in 14 years)

WTF?! I go by that little note on amazon for delivery. If it says it'll get there by the 24th of December it's still not too late!

I've bought the DDs' main presents and ordered some photo calendars from Vistaprint and that's it so far.

I've got no enthusiasm yet, it's still too far away to be excited about

I always do my christmas shopping in December. I do my food shopping [which is only for a couple of days] either 1 or 2 days before. I just keep it as low key and simple as possible.

I haven´t even thought about starting yet!

Well, I´m off to UK to see my Dad, leaving husband & teenagers here.

As far as I´m concerned there´s nothing for me to do!
(Unless I happen to see something that I think husband would like)

So relieved to see this thread! I have a total lack of arseness this year, and I'm on mat leave still with my DSs. What also pisses me off is DH barely gets involved with it all, when he has a bigger family and he says useful thing like 'I trust your judgement' grrrrr.

I might get going in December, moving house this weekend so won't be settled for a while and I will have some help with my boys from family so I can get the shopping done!
