AIBU to think MN not what I thought it would be

After years of hearing about how influential and "middle class" MN is. I am I being unreasonable to think that I have found it (over past few months - so can't judge beyond this) a bit "meh2! A lot of the postings appear to be attention-seeking, middle-of-the-road and basically dull. Am I missing something?

Whatnoffs the OP was quite categorical in stating her disappointment at how boring it is here.

I belive new posters should take a few weeks to get to know the site first without starting threads like this.

MN have helped alot of people, my recent was just me saying well done to a poster for having a smear the power of the posters who don't know me or have met me could have saved my life by encouraging me to go.
