I sat in the drs surgery once with ds screaming in pain from earache having been sent home from school, just as we went in he announced before his ear started hurting he'd walked into his coat peg and hit his ear on it. Kids!!! Hope your ds is ok now.

He's fine thanks tomme. And DS has been told that if he it happens again he has to tell the teacher so the teacher doesn't think he's ill, or if he can't bear to tell tales then at least tell me so we don't have another wasted trip!

At least they're children. My DF once ended up in hospital with a suspected heart attack then remembered he had hit his chest getting out of the pool.

DD1 once had a orthopaedic referral for unexplained limping. Weeks later she mentioned how she had swapped shoes with Daisy from nursery. Just the one shoe mind- 2 sizes smaller. and at wasting NHS resources.

DS wanted me to call an ambulance once because he couldn't breathe he had a cold

My daughter had to have stitches in her head after falling over my foot out of the front door. I was on the phone to work, trying to get rid of a salesman at the door and trying to prevent her escaping all at the same time. When the staff at A&E asked her what had happened she gave them puppy dog eyes and said 'mummy pushed me over'

My eldest, when a toddler, suddenly lost the use of his legs. He went floppy, couldn't stand up, started dragging himself around.

I flew to A&E

Where he stood up and ran around the waiting room

A friends small daughter once spent a long time at A&E with large bruises on the backs of her legs, just below the knee, which were making her limp. No-one could work out what had happened, even after x-rays. Turned out she'd been wearing her wellies, and the 'bruises' were felt pen marks where her mum had written her name in the wellies.

Ds is too small for any of this yet and all his injuries have been genuine.

I nearly took DD to A&E once as her arms were covered in bruises that looked like a rash and didn't fade under a glass test. Then she remembered she had used masking tape tightly all over her arms the night before when dressing up as a superhero

I had to pick my son up from pre school as he had been sick. When I got there he was sat with a bucket in front of him and one of the staff cuddling him.
I was told to keep him off for 48 hours after his last vomit.

Got him home and he seemed OK to me.

A few hours later he sheepishly told me he had been practicing putting his fingers down his throat.

When my pfb was a toddler and potty training i rang my husband at work in a panic because i thought that the tip of pfbs penis was infected and i didnt know what to do.
I was just dressing him to rush to the doctors when i spotted a green felt pen on the floor with the top off and realised he had coloured himself in

My dd was bouncing on the bed before bedtime, fell off and hit her head. She had a little bump and a cry and seemed fine, except there was what looked like blood in her hair. I whisked her off to A and E and kept her awake for an hour until the nice doctor examined her head and used a wipe to remove the red finger paint from dd's scalp. oops

I convinced myself my pfb DD1 had somehow damaged her foot irreparably because I could not get her shoe on her foot and she cried whenever I applied pressure.

It was only in the waiting room of the Dr's surgery that I discovered the ping pong ball in the toe of her shoe

Brilliant thread! My DS, when he was maybe 4, had to have an emergency dash to the A & E on account of grabbing a cup at my Granny's house and necking the contents. The contents - bleach. . When the initial emergency was over and the lovely nurse asked him WTF he looked at her and said, deadpan, "I thought it was Granny's whisky".

At work today I had a dad bring in his 6 year old DD who he was worried had an infected verruca.

It was a piece of sock fluff with Blu Tac stuck to it, stuck underneath her foot

I once had to have my blood sugars retested in pregnancy because the last test had been worryingly high. I didn't dare tell them that getting away from work early for an antenatal appointment had made me so happy that I'd celebrated with a McD's apple pie and large coke just before my blood test

Four hours in A&E when DS1 put a raisin up his nose. The doctor got me to block off the un-occluded nostril, seal my lips around his mouth and blow. The raisin popped out, all plump and juicy. I really enjoyed it.
