to think DD is too young for Teen posters

So DH got DS got his Beano comic the other day and DD (7) got 'Go Girl' (she liked the look of the tat free gift which was a notebook/stickers and whatnot). It also seemed to be fairly innocuous - some younger stuff - kittens and ponies and a bit of older stuff - fashion and pop stars.

Now she wants to put the poster up on her wall - One Direction. She vaguely knows who they are but it just feels a bit 'old' for me.

DH says it's harmless and I am not sure why I feel so strongly that i don't want her to - I am not usually uptight at all.

So I have told DH and DD that I will put it to the Mumsnet Jury

Ruby that first pic made me all hot and bothered under the gusset until the second pic quickly cooled my ardour.

Experiment a success!

Update

I asked her why she wanted to put the poster up and she said because it was cool to have posters. I then pointed out the other poster that came with the magazine (a pony) and asked what she thought of that one. Also cool.

I have let her put the One Direction poster up and the pony poster next to it. I am still slightly unsure, but it's clear to me that it is fairly innocent and that it is more about the poster being a poster than the actual content.

DD is 11 and hates 1D, but loves JLS. She even has a I Love Aston schoolbag . She fell out with me yesterday because I said The Wanted new single was ok.

My 7 yr old ds is completly oblivious to everything but i dont think ds2 will be the same.

That is lovely.

You can always suggest she replaces 1D in a couple of weeks with something different.
