To be hopping mad regarding pie?

We decided to have a beef pie for lunch. I put all of the filling ingredients together to cook slowly in our biggest pot. I asked DH to keep an eye on pop...and stir it now and then.

Then I went for a bath.

I could hear DH clanging around and thought he must be stirring etc.

I come down about 40 mins later to find DH has put the pie ingredients in a tiny pan on a higher heat....and begun to cook fucking lentils in the big pot.

AIBU to think you don't mess with someones pie ingredients and CHANGE THE POT AND THE HEAT???

DH thinks I'm crazy.

He often interferes in my cooking because he thinks he's better than me ...he''s not...we are about equally skilled in the kitchen.

And WHY cook a big pot of frigging lentils when there's a bastard big pie on the way with loads of veggies???

YABU because you've made me really, really want pie now.

Sorry that's really not helpful.

Can SO sympathise. My husband likes to open the oven to "check" on what I'm cooking, and has been know to switch the oven off, without LOOKING in it first. He just assumed that I'd left it on accidentally. Before dinner. Aaaargh!

Have you had your lentils yet OP?

I may be a little late to the conversation but YANBU. Your DH can have the lentils and I should get the pie. Mmmmm.

YANBU OP. I hate it when people interfere with my cooking. My mother does this, I cook a meal and she comes along into my kitchen personal space & nitpicks.

I recently suffered pie disappointment. Ordered one when out for dinner, it was bloody stew with a pastry lid. Hmm
