posie, it is then cultural too. The people who do it here in the uk you will find have not assimilated into British society. They have not taken on any of our views or traditions. They are holding onto a culture of a place they come from.

Did we forget that in Turkey, a country where 90 per cent? of the population are Muslims, half the murders are thought to be honour killings?

Is there someone in this thread saying that honour killings are required by the Qran? Could you point out where? Because I haven't seen it.

Quran says that it is "perfect, complete, and fully detailed" and all you need to know as a Muslim.

My point is: Honor killings are not in the Quran, neither is FGM. Therefore, as far as Muslims are concerned, neither honor killings nor FGM are part of Islam.
