to take the piss out of 4x4s

Picked dd up from school today, she pointed at I think a Landrover Freelander (I'm not an expert) in the car park, and said 'why is that there?'

I said 'maybe they're a farmer'.

Said vehicle had clearly been the subject of regular waxing, leather interior, and so on and looked the shiniest vehicle in the car park, so this was obviously not the case, certainly not in this area.

DD said 'maybe they built that building there?'

'Maybe', I said.

I could say 'because some people make inappropriate and antisocial car choices'.

But taking the piss seems better?

But what if you want one?

What if you can afford it, like it, and want to drive it?

Do you have to pretend to have no money? Do you have to not buy nice stuff in case someone sees it?

prudencesmom · 01/11/2012 16:21

Dear Exit

Whatever.

I Dont Give A Toss.

Go and shoot some foxes.

For someone who professes not to give a toss prudence, you seem terribly angry.

So I have a large 4x4. Have done for 20 years as I need it for my hobby.

I actually don't like it that much. It uses a lot of petrol it is bigger than some supermarket parking spaces and it really diesn't accelerate. So when I had enough cash I bought a second fun car for commuting.

So for the generalisers out there......

If I do drive my 4x4 am I doing so to show off?

If I drive my other car, am I an ok person (but only because I can afford two cars)?

Life is really too short to have some many objections to what others do. Keep your sticky beak out, count your blessings and take pleasure that others are happy too.

ExitPursuedByAaaaaarGhoul · 01/11/2012 16:34

She does, doesn't she. I wonder what makes her think I shoot foxes Confused

Yet another assumption jumped too.

Sparklingbrook · 01/11/2012 16:43

Hi all , is this all sorted yet? Can someone do a summary for me? Ta.

Thanks for that Everlong. I have missed nowt then. Wink How does she shoot foxes without a gun though? Confused Grin

TantrumsAndBalloons · 01/11/2012 17:28

I think exit does have a gun.

Tucked behind her personalised number plate.

On her blinged out 4x4

And she shoots foxes.

Sparklingbrook · 01/11/2012 17:32

Exit's car (possibly)

prudencesmom · 01/11/2012 18:24

Everlong you are wrong and are the only one frothing!
4x4 haters are winning Smile
Everyone else is is not cool.
Exit does have a gun and shags sheep.

Sparklingbrook · 01/11/2012 18:29

Oh. I have been misled then? Sad now I don't know what to think. Humph. Grin

Sparkling - you have lost me there, but then it is not difficult to lose me as I am a thick country yokel.

But I can ::head tilt:: but only to the right.
