It is a movie I have always tried to avoid as it psychologically terrifies me. The slow descent into insanity of Jack Nicholson's character.

I shouldn't be this scared should I?

I am going to watch and conquer my fear.

Which movie terrifies you?

Fairyjen · 24/10/2012 23:29

sole the remake is scary. The original is all kinds of fucked up!

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:29

Not really scary just afterwards when your tv is staring at you from the corner of the living room no. The original version is actually quite sad in places.

But our tv caught fire and we haven't replaced it yet so I'm watching vicariously through your posts Grin

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:30

Aww, night. I will have to rent it once tv is replaced!

SoleSource · 24/10/2012 23:33

allthefun · 24/10/2012 23:40

Ullena you have just written my post! I love the Ring (both versions) so much. I have to admit having a moment passing a particularly red Acer tree the other day because I had a flashback to the film.

I hate slasher movies but Texas Chainsaw is amazing. I thought it would be daft but actually the idea of genuinely sadistic inbreed people is proper scary let alone that they eat human flesh.

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:43

I haven't seen woman in black...

It caught fire whilst we were upstairs decorating, SoleSource. Something went inside it. There was a good bit of green smoke coming out of the back. DH noticed the weird smell and went down. His reaction was to lug it outside! Smoke alarm slept through the entire episode and woke up to shout about the dinner Angry

freddiefrog · 24/10/2012 23:45

Scream/Saw blood and guts slasher type movies don't really scare me, I'm not a fan but they don't play on my mind or really scare me

Movies that do scare me are the ones that are more about what you don't see, the more subtle stuff.

Blood and guts and running around screaming don't really do anything for me

SoleSource · 24/10/2012 23:48

LKILL HIM KILL HIM BEFORE HE AWAKES!!

OP posts:
Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:49

Scream 4 got to me...the end of it, with the killer's crazy speech. Just shook me, the thinking involved in it.

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:50

Lol, shouting at the film, yup that is the proof of a horror!

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:53

That recent one The Possession...the wee girl and the box...it got to me. I liked it a lot because it wasn't definitely saying that it was supernatural, it could have been lots of things but you knew it was the supernatural iyswim...

TurkeyDino · 24/10/2012 23:58

I read the shining in my Uni halls when everyone else was away for the weekend. I was so terrified I seriously contemplated peeing in my bin rather than crossing the hall to the looBlush

I have enjoyed everything I have seen by Wes Craven. I have never watched the Freddy stuff though and probably never will I hate the idea of something getting you while you sleep! Bodysnatchers scared me too [embarrassed]

Ullena · 25/10/2012 00:05
