It is a movie I have always tried to avoid as it psychologically terrifies me. The slow descent into insanity of Jack Nicholson's character.

I shouldn't be this scared should I?

I am going to watch and conquer my fear.

Which movie terrifies you?

If there was a crazy women in the hotel would you leave your child alone whilst you went to fetch your mad husband?

Ullena · 24/10/2012 23:10

Solesource, hated that clown thing! Loved when the kid took it apart...but then the tree!! And now I'm scared again, lol!

katykuns · 24/10/2012 23:10

comedycentral I agree... the tension is just missing... the drawn out, disturbing aspects aren't there.

I don't watch any modern horrors anymore, they are nasty, but the plots are boring and they are just packed with gore. I prefer it left to the imagination.

I adore the shining though. It doesn't scare me particularly, but it disturbs me a bit.

SoleSource · 24/10/2012 23:11

Agree horrors are too clean, fresh
no tea now, feel sick

Oh yeah she just left him alone!

The sheer size and lonliness of that hotel, ghosts or not would put me off. Would you be there alone comedy?

I liked the Family Guy sketch of The Shining...

comedycentral · 24/10/2012 23:14

No I would take lots of family. I think we would all get go karts and ride around the hotel. Would read lots, paint, exercise. It would be brilliant.

The old man looks scared. I have forgotten most of this film.

comedycentral · 24/10/2012 23:15

I like Asian horror films. The grudge for example. Took me three attempts to sit through whole thing and you can't look away because it's in subtitles!!

SoleSource · 24/10/2012 23:20

I know he went upstairs to look for the woman who strangled his child! Then he ends up snogging her.

comedycentral · 24/10/2012 23:20

Loved the original grudge

SoleSource · 24/10/2012 23:20
