squoosh, That article is very badly written.

breastmilk is becoming increasingly common used as a supplement to cancer treatment and provided by family members. I've supplied it twice now.

I express very efficiently and can fill bottles at an alarming rate so despite having 3 children I can manage to find the time to do this.

If someone can't express (and having a close family member dying from cancer can further inhibit this) then offering from source might feel like a reasonable alternative. The thing about this really is whether you really BELIEVE that breastmilk can play a significant part in keeping a family member alive. If so, a lot of people would do it I reckon.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 12:55

Urgh that article is horrible. I would never do that but would happily express for a family member, but whoever chose to write "That the news article did not cite any peer-reviewed scientific journals did not matter to either Sonia or her dad, who was more than eager to suck her breasts as a means of treating his cancer." deserves a huge slap

lljkk · 21/10/2012 13:11

It doesn't bother me. WEIRD but relatively harmless.
I presume there's a doggy formula that would be better for the animal, though.

TheProvincialLady · 21/10/2012 14:11

Hackmum that is odd isn't it? Clearly Mary COULD breastfeed if she needed to have the milk removed so she didn't get engorged. Why didn't they just put her baby on - especially as the alternatives for the baby (wet nursing/hand feeding) often meant death for the baby).

I had puerperal fever after DS1 and was v ill. I am so glad the hospital had breast pumps available and I didn't wake up to a couple of puppies.

MamaBear17 · 21/10/2012 19:16

There are no words..............!!

messtins · 21/10/2012 19:53

Well, yes it is odd. Would it be odd (or just cute) if it was a cat suckling the puppy? Would it still be odd if they fed the puppy human milk in a bottle?

Isn't it therefore odd to feed a baby cow's milk in a bottle?

Loobylou222 · 21/10/2012 20:01

People snog their dogs! That's worse IMO.

ScaryBeardyDeadyman · 21/10/2012 21:41

if you liked the story in the op, you'll love this

It won't let me open it on my phone Sad

I would love to see your google history though!

Fakebook · 21/10/2012 21:54

Does the dog need milk? No I don't think it does. Why would anyone do this? It's practically on par with beastuality. Some people (weird people) will get off on that picture.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/10/2012 22:01

EEEEWWWWWWW!

claraschu · 21/10/2012 22:05

This doesn't sound any stranger than humans drinking cow's milk. (I haven't looked at the pictures.)

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 21/10/2012 22:08

clara but I have never attached myself to a cows tit and drained its milk that way.

I think that's the difference Grin

fluffypillow · 21/10/2012 22:17

Just when I thought I'd seen it all.

I worry about my 21 month old DDs teeth when I BF her...........the woman with the tiger cubs has got some ballsConfused

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 22:22

Those tigers are so cute

roundtable · 21/10/2012 22:24

I haven't clicked on the link as I hate all that freak show stuff but in Papua New Guinea, pigs are wealth and people would do anything to ensure the best health of their pigs which included breastfeeding them.

Got so used to seeing it, I stopped seeing it as strange.

If you had the misfortune to run over/kill a pig, you were advised to drive to the nearest police station for your own protection and work out suitable compensation.

EchoBitch · 21/10/2012 22:49

How long did it take you to 'find' that link?

What an odd thing to look for.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 21/10/2012 22:52

echo deady is a very odd man. I personally think he has a fetish issues Grin

ScaryBeardyDeadyman · 21/10/2012 22:54

You deserve that biscuit and everything it represents deady Grin

EchoBitch · 21/10/2012 23:01

What made you search that term?

I imagine your Google history is deeply unpleasant.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 21/10/2012 23:03

His google history would be a great read!

This isn't the worst link he's done.
