Human baby suckling a dog = weird
Human baby suckling a cow/goat = less weird.

I seem to remember a bit in the book of 101 Dalmatians where some cows let the puppies suckle from them Grin

RikersBeard · 21/10/2012 10:54

Yes interpecies thing. But it makes no sense, I consume vast quantities of cows (and sheep and goat) milk products.

But yes it's more about an odd relationship thing re this story- nurturing from the breast is something very intimate. I love my pets but I would be getting that intimate with them.

LST · 21/10/2012 10:54

It is wrong. I wouldn't mind if she was pumping though. Nothing wrong with that. I just don't see how it's horrifying. In the grand scale of things it's not that bad. I just worry about the mental state of the woman!

ledkr · 21/10/2012 10:54

Yes and the latch is important for good production

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 10:55

I agree Sparkling. I think the picture is of a woman squishing a pugs nose into her nork.

TheProvincialLady · 21/10/2012 10:55

The woman will be posting on dogsnet soon, asking if she can give her 10 day old puppy pureed pedigree chum yet as she's heard it will make him sleep through the night.

IWipeArses · 21/10/2012 10:55

SBD, I wouldn't be impressed, but let us not forget that the Roman Empire, possibly the most successful civilisation in history was founded by children suckled by wolves.

SHriekk, on't telly I have seen native South American women bf monkeys and I think it was a sect of Jains in India bf deer.

RikersBeard · 21/10/2012 10:55

Why does nobody drink pig milk?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 10:55

I wouldn't like the thought of a human baby getting that intimate with an animal's undercarriage tbh. I realise that's my issue :o

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2012 10:56

Get some 'hungry dog' formula down it. I wonder if she burps it afterwards.

SamSmalaidh · 21/10/2012 10:56

This was the bit in Human Planet about bfing monkeys:

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 10:56

but romulus and remus are a myth...arent they?

ledkr · 21/10/2012 10:56

I wonder if he's a biter

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 21/10/2012 10:57

Just whatever you do don't give it doggy rice. That stuff is like wallpaper paste. Just leave it home while you pop out for an hour and it will chew the wallpaper itself.

VacantExpression · 21/10/2012 11:04

My eyes! My poor Eyes! I cant unsee the picture now!

YADNBU. But i suppose its not doing any actual harm.......

dottyspotty2 · 21/10/2012 11:05

Remember seeing this over a year ago she's still publicity seeking over it I see

flamingtoaster · 21/10/2012 11:06

I hope the doggy-led-weaning goes well - imagine the mess!

Nancy66 · 21/10/2012 11:07

Weird and probably not true.

just an attention seeking loon saying whatever it takes for her £300

Jaffacakeeater · 21/10/2012 11:17

Well it takes all sorts.....
The disgusting part is allowing a dog to lick your baby's bottle teat. Foul!

I once read a biography of Mary Wollestonecraft, and after she gave birth to her daughter (who became Mary Shelley) she was very ill with puerperal fever and unable to breastfeed, so to stop her breasts being swollen with milk, they gave her puppies to suckle. I know, it's weird. (And she died anyway.)

SirBoobAlot · 21/10/2012 11:32

My main objection is that someone has just called the Roman civilisation the most successful in history Shock Wink

I dunno, am kind of immune to the "BREASTFEEDING IS SO EXTREME" stories now.

lovebunny · 21/10/2012 12:20

i have heard of people breastfeeding lambs and kids when they need the animal to survive as the family can't afford to lose any livestock. but they weren't women who hadn't bothered to breastfeed their own children. i can't imagine what would make a woman offer her own nipple to a dog just because it licked the teat of the baby's bottle. made up story?

AnyaKnowIt · 21/10/2012 12:39

Squoosh - now that is wrong! Shock
