To not want an All pink nursery for my baby girl?!

Any advice where I can find a feminine but not all pink nursery interior set? Don't want room to be overly pink but that said don't want it to be just neutral either (yes I know I'm a fussy sod)

No, YANBU! When I didn't know the gender of my baby, I didn't want the traditional pink or blue for girl or boy. We are having a boy, and have gone with bright bold colours and white mixed in.

I did like the Prickles and Twoo set also for a girl, and may well have gone for that option if it had been a girl! I also thought about doing a silver and lilac theme which would have been girly, but not the pink fest that you usually see! I wanted girly, but just not pink (very pale pink would be acceptable though!)

We didn't go for a 'set' in the end, but bought individual pieces that matched with the colours etc.

No, you're not crazy at all. We have this Laura Ashley theme for our DD room. We papered two walls and painted two pale green and picked up the peach, green and lilac in bedding and accessories.

Dd2 has a cream and turquoise room with little bit's of pink (rug, throw and pillows etc)

Thanks might looking into other options aside from a 'set'.
I know I'm being fussy just think that an all pink nursery for a girl is a bit boring thought there would be more options out there besides pink, blue or beige but my hunting so far has been fruitless besides the twoo set mentioned above

go with animals theme? there's lots of animal wall stickers, bedding etc that's neither pink or blue, but also not completely plain.

Also, pink and pale blue go well together, a friend of mine has a little girl and she's painted the walls pale blue (sort of that posh egg colour) and then put pale pink curtains and bedding, and hten when all the pink toys and accessories she's been bought are added, it looks really nice without being too 'barbie princess' - remember, you will get a lot of pink stuff, whether you want it or not...

Dd has curtains from ikea which are white with red and green and pink on, little flowers and hearts etc, she has a canappy over bed with leaves on, a lampshade with leaves and flowers on, some flower wall stickers and a green rug, went for a garden type feel, she has fairies stuck to her wardrobe, she does have a pink dressing table and pink bed covers (she's 4 so hard to get away from pink now!)

I did my DDs room out as a forest - you can get giant wall stickers and I found a load with giant mushrooms, flowers, bees, butterflies and fairies. There was also a huge tree. So her room looks like walking into a fairy world. I picked up bits and pieces that matched and as shes got older have added Peppa Pig wall stickers. Shes now 18mo and loves telling me all about the different stickers.

We also went for a mix of bright colours with off-white walls. No set just lots of pieces in bright colours. We don't know the sex but even if we d's we wouldn't be going down the gendered route anyway.

We have found it hard finding things which aren't 'for boys' or 'for girls'.

Please don't waste your money on a set! Honestly, babies don't use duvets or covers (my dd is 21m and had only just starting using a blanket rather than gro bag). Bumpers aren't safe once they can sit up.

Also unless your planning on leaving it there until they are much older, then the only time they will be in it is when they are asleep!

We painted the walls v v v pale pink and put a nice border round. Plain white black out blind with fabric draped in front. Oh and a rug I made while I was pregnant.

Have you looked on Vertbaudet, or Jojo maman bebe? I like a lot of the things on there!

Brightly coloured stuff! You can easily get things to match those, Ikea have a lot of bits to match!

You really don't need any of this stuff.

I realise I may be in a minority, but use of the word 'nursery' for 'baby's bedroom' makes my head want to explode.

It is just a word... I don't mind either nursery or babys bedroom, but since the babys bedroom is mine for the first 6 months years or so. It should really be called the babys storage room!

You see lady I don't mind it. I think baby's bedroom is often inaccurate as the baby often doen't sleep in there until it's 6-12 months old as it's in it's parents' room to sleep so the baby's bedroom really is a room for storing all the baby paraphernalia, clothes, change table etc. I don't object to 'baby's bedroom' or 'baby's room', I just think 'nursery' works fine too. Everyone/most people understand what you are referring to whichever term you use, so in the grand scheme of things I'm not really bothered (in the nicest possible way!). I just wondered why you find it so annoying? I know you're not alone. I've seen the same view expressed quite a lot on here recently. Perhaps there's some undercurrent to the terminology that's passing me by?

Sorry to hijack op! We have a dd and had the same issue as you. In the end we went for a load of bright multicoloured stuff all from different shops and we think it look fun for her (and fine for any future dd or ds) .
