Baaartimaeus · 10/10/2012 16:39

I respond to posts

SoleSource · 10/10/2012 16:39

DeWe that was hilarious before it became tedious. :)

Baaartimaeus · 10/10/2012 16:39

I respond to posts

MaryZed · 10/10/2012 16:40

Having said that I've seen one poster arsy twice today Hmm. If I see her a third time tonight I might be a tad less tolerant.

So I do notice the odd arse, and respond to them.

nemno · 10/10/2012 16:41

This will be the exception. I respond to posts but if I recognise the name as a regular poster I usually won't bother.

FunnysInLaJardin · 10/10/2012 16:41

btw, I know this is a tad off topic, but I hate the phrase 'tear you a new one' or similar variants. It's just so graphic. I will overlook it this once OneMoreChap but don't do it again

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 10/10/2012 16:41

Both. How I respond depends on what sort of mood I'm in.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 10/10/2012 16:42

I don't even know how to hide things! despite having been there nearly three years.

Moominsarescary · 10/10/2012 16:42

Mainly posts but occasionally posters

ExitPursuedByAaaaaarGhoul · 10/10/2012 16:42

Why do people think Everlong has recently namechanged?

Hullygully · 10/10/2012 16:43

cos she said dimwit

OP posts:
Hullygully · 10/10/2012 16:43

might have been on another thread tbf

OP posts:
MaryZed · 10/10/2012 16:44

Ariel, how do you find anything?

Before I started hiding whole topics, my active was absolutely full of ante and post natal clubs, quiches, prams and random shite etc etc etc.

Now I have about ten topics showing, and life is much more manageable.

I suspect a lot of people have the same ten topics left Grin and that's why the same names appear over and over again.

Hullygully · 10/10/2012 16:44

nemno

so you wouldn't post if you DID recognise the poster?

MAVERICK

ThatBloodyKnid · 10/10/2012 16:44

She might be bluffing.

EarnestDullard · 10/10/2012 16:44

Bit of both if I'm honest. I choose to read threds based on the content rather than the poster. But in replying it's harder to be completely objective about something when you 'know' a poster (either having met them in RL or just being familiar on here with their tone and any backstory). It can colour your interpretation of their posts. If someone that I knew was generally lovely posted something a bit harsh I might wonder if they're having a bad day; if someone whose nn I didn't recognise did the same I might not be as sympathetic.

It's like RL; if a good friend makes a sarky comment you probably know not to take it seriously; if a random stranger did the same you might be a bit Hmm.

MaryZed · 10/10/2012 16:45

Hasn't Everlong been here since the dawn of time for a while?

Hullygully · 10/10/2012 16:46

Everlong said she ncd for a week.

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 10/10/2012 16:47

Usually just posts although there a few names I recognise and respond to.

ClaireMarathonFeeder · 10/10/2012 16:48

Mainly posts,, but will look up the name if they have written something very interesting, funny or extremely arsy!

I then immediately forget who said what so not very useful. < does not remember how to use speeadsheets>

SoleSource · 10/10/2012 16:49

[sick]

HecateLarpo · 10/10/2012 16:49

I respond to posts. I wouldn't answer/not answer a post because of who wrote it.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 10/10/2012 16:50

Mary, I dunno. It's possibly why I am in no quiches because I just flit aimlessly around, looking at Threads I'm On and Most Active and the odd glance down Chat and AIBU.
