To be disgusted by the guests on Jeremy Kyle?

I think i've watched this show less than ten times. This morning was one of those times.

There was a woman who had three potential fathers to her child, and had attacked one of the men for being a bad dad - turns out he wasn't even the dad.

There was a feckless father boasting JK pays for his drugs.

Guests laugh along when JK mocks them - making them look daft.

Guests don't seem to take any pride in their personal appearance.

They all shout and scream like children, despite them having children themselves.

I hate JK, but I hate the attitudes and lifestyles of the majority of his guests even more.

Only watched it this morning because I couldn't find the remote.

As much as people say that people like this are in the minority, JK has been running for over five years, five days a week, with at least two new guests per show.

modern man has moved on from putting people in the stocks and reinvented himself as JK show

Boomerwang · 10/10/2012 20:05

I used to listen to him with Maureen Messent on 'Jezza Late n Live' on BRMB and he wasn't so bad then. He seemed to talk a lot of sense.

However, I've watched a couple of his shows because my colleagues were watching it and I think he's a manipulative hypocrite who gets off on looking down at other people despite not being such a great guy himself.

Judging by the responses on this thread, I'm still in awe of his ability to attract an audience to his public car crashes.

BupcakesAndHaunting · 10/10/2012 20:07

I love how not one of us says "I was just watching it for a laugh, like" it's all "I am ill" "I couldn't find remote" "my workmates had it on" "the dog likes the theme tune"

Can't stand Jezza...

Mrs Dogg on the other hand...her bosom is the tenth wonder of the world Shock

She's FAR scarier than her husband.

GoldShip · 10/10/2012 20:22

Haha shirley I think he would most definitely have met his match with me. I really feel sorry for some who go on because they all think Jeremy Kyle is so CLEVER, when in fact he's a halfwit who just spins out the same old holier than thou lines...
'get a job!'
'the tax payers pay for you'
'well well well...'
'id walk to the end of the EARTH for my child..'

Nobhead. He has no grasp of life at all.

Bupcakes - its not good is it? My areas like the bloody bronx it's rough as sin.

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 20:25

I would no more mess with Beth Dogg (that's her name in this house) than I would go on JK.

That hair! Those tits! Her nails!

She.is.fabulous.

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 20:31

Yy Goldship, I think people think that he is actually going to help them Confused but they must watch the show and know that he's just going to be a bastard - perhaps they are so deeply entrenched in their belief that they are "right" and that he'll rip into the other party that it never occurs to them that he's going to shout in their faces.

I would imagine that most of the people on there are not of a high IQ either. It's just bloody sad really.

greeneyed · 10/10/2012 20:32

Shirley "two flaps" I am crying with laughter

ScarletLady02 · 10/10/2012 20:34

Agreed ShirleyRots

I love it when Dogg tries to pull rank on her but gets NOWHERE. She is just a vision in bleach and bounciness.

Boomerwang · 10/10/2012 20:37

I don't know if you get this show in the UK but 'Operation Repo' has a very very scary woman in it. Her lipliner goes up her nostrils. True story.

Mrsjay · 10/10/2012 20:40

did you lose your remote ms i can see that would be difficult to turn the tv over. people are like this and TBH they have such shitty lives that going ON JK helps them sort out issues they feel they have, next time don't watch it ,

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 20:42

Grin greeneyed, honestly I'm so foul.

I think we do get that operation repo thing - IT'S ON RIGHT NOW!! Sky channel 144 Dmaxx. It looks scary. Very fighty.

Mrsjay · 10/10/2012 20:45

DO i need to read the whole thread to work out why people have got from JK to booby beth Grin

I watch JK to laugh at people sometimes and am in Shock most mornings

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 20:47

I dunno how we moved onto the incredible Beth - the op did a threadplop, then sat back and watched some fireworks which didn't happen. We were all very respectful of one another.

It's a proud day for MN Grin

BupcakesAndHaunting · 11/10/2012 08:59

I quite liked the town centre, Goldship. The new shopping centre was naice and there was a nice cafee what I went in. But then I had to go into the suburbs and that was where I got scared. :(

I've said this before on MN but honestly the best thing about JK is playing Jeremy Kyle Bingo, where before the show begins you scrawl down some choice catchphrases of Jezza's on a piece of paper then you can cross them off as he screams them into the face of some poor drongo.

  • Well, well, well
  • Dirty Little Liar
  • Unless I'm missing the point (you usually are, Jez)
  • Put something on the end of it
  • It's a full house
  • It says the Jeremy Kyle Show on the wall NOT the Dave Show
  • The all important DNA/lie detector results

What is interesting nowadays is that they're running a little disclaimer at the bottom of the screen saying that the effectiveness of the lie detector has been doubted by experts. Well, well, well, Jezza. Tell me something new, shit-for-brains. If they're so effing GREAT why don't the police use them, hmmm?

Nancy66 · 11/10/2012 09:14

I've done a lie detector test. I lied my head off and passed with flyng colours.

(did it as part of a journalistic assignment I should add - not on Jezza)

SugariceAndScary · 11/10/2012 09:28

I'd better pop JK on, you know for research purposes only, just to check out JK's knob hairstyle of the day. Wink

AreAllMenTheSame2 · 11/10/2012 09:29

Yabu, I'd be more disgusted at Jeremy than the poor buggers that end up on his show. I detest the man, the way he stands over people while their sat down, screaming in their face. If he did that to anyone in the street he woukd of got a beating by now. But he can get away with it while his bodygaurds and audience are there. Ooh and how when the first person comes on stage he acts like their best mate then turns on them as soon as the other person comes out. He is a nasty vicious little bully

Mrsjay · 11/10/2012 09:32

JK today I am NOT stalking my EX then lots of shouting and pointing thats all that has happened so far ,

fatlazymummy · 11/10/2012 09:35

I hate this programme, I just find it depressing all round.
Re not being able to find the self control, my TV/satellite box also has buttons so I can get off my arse and change channels manually if I hate the programme.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 11/10/2012 09:38

JK is a twat, but he has been on the telly for years and anyone with an ounce of sense can see what the show is like. I can't feel sympathy for people that willingly go on the show. They have chosen to be there, they know what they are getting into. They are not being exploited, they are doing it because they fancy a night in a hotel in London.

BupcakesAndHaunting · 11/10/2012 09:59

It's in Manchester actually, Freddos.

I know too much about Jeremy Kyle :(

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 11/10/2012 10:01

Is it? Well, Manchester is still a great city which I'm sure has very nice hotels!

Aboutlastnight · 11/10/2012 10:09

this was a picec in the guardian a while back about what happens after Jeremy Kyle

"The next day, they were taken to the studio and put in separate rooms, where they say the baiting continued until it was time to go on. Chris says, "They kept coming in and saying, 'Your mum said this about you. Your mum said you were a dirty crackhead.' Some of the stuff they told me, I thought, 'My mum doesn't even talk like that, my mum would never say that.'"

Moominsarescary · 11/10/2012 10:09

Doesn't he pay for all their beer?

I've known a few people who have been on the show, they've all had mh problems or drug/alcohol addictions.
