To be disgusted by the guests on Jeremy Kyle?

I think i've watched this show less than ten times. This morning was one of those times.

There was a woman who had three potential fathers to her child, and had attacked one of the men for being a bad dad - turns out he wasn't even the dad.

There was a feckless father boasting JK pays for his drugs.

Guests laugh along when JK mocks them - making them look daft.

Guests don't seem to take any pride in their personal appearance.

They all shout and scream like children, despite them having children themselves.

I hate JK, but I hate the attitudes and lifestyles of the majority of his guests even more.

Only watched it this morning because I couldn't find the remote.

As much as people say that people like this are in the minority, JK has been running for over five years, five days a week, with at least two new guests per show.

Haven't read the whole thread (sorry - I usually do) but all these individuals on JK are the product of their upbringing. It takes an exceptional character to break the cycle, so try not to think too badly.

Is that a really a mystery?

The reason they have shit teeth is because they're poor, mainly. Dentists ain't cheap and if you're under an NHS dentist on benefits there's a culture for pulling the fuckers out rather than cosmetic dentistry, surprisingly enough.

I too have a JK story - I used to manage a homeless day centre and we had a very very unwell mentally, extremely vulnerable user there who was convinced that going on JK would help him sort out the issues he had with mother. So, he called them. they actually called back and I explained his situation, the woman was virtually wetting herself with excitement at the thought of having someone so clearly in a dreadful place on the show. I put the phone down and never told him :(

There are normally off switches on the actual tv you know? Or the plug?

I watched dogg the bounty hunter when we were on holiday buppy. It was...so so strange.

I do actually love Jerry Springer. They have a pole where less inhibited guests on the show may demonstrate their stripper prowess. His audience proper rip into the guests. Jerry retains the air of a dignified statesman whilst all of this unfurls around him.

Aren't they all actors on jerry springer? They're not real actual people are they? I've seen trailers and they ring a dingding boxing bell and then they launch at each other.

shirleyrots oh don't get me wrong JK is a right condescending twat, but I am so glad with what they've done for my friend and his mum. Obviously its all for a good show and theyre getting them back on (has been recorded but not aired yet) to show her progress, but I think for some people it does genuinely help.

A few people I know have been on it. (I live in wigan, there's a lot of idiots) One of them was a lad who's supposed to be my half brother had a lie detector test with his girlfriend. I'm still expecting him to take me on for a DNA test but the answer will be a big fat NO.

God, I am ill and if that doesn't qualify me to watch some American trash telly well I don't know what does.

I do think, very cynically, that it certainly pays for them to help some people - in order to be able to wheel them out and also to be able to argue against allegations (like what I'm making ) of a cruel and calculated exploitation - however, I'm am of course glad for your friend and his ma.

I went to Wigan once. It was, er, rustic.

I don't like Springer shows, but do like Maury , as his is only DNA and lie detector tests about cheating. He does not shout and he shows genuine concern for his guests and the children. Jeremy, I watch only for the DNA tests, as can't stand the aggressive behaviour of many of the other guests, and they always talk over eachother, and JK has no control over them
