To be disgusted by the guests on Jeremy Kyle?

I think i've watched this show less than ten times. This morning was one of those times.

There was a woman who had three potential fathers to her child, and had attacked one of the men for being a bad dad - turns out he wasn't even the dad.

There was a feckless father boasting JK pays for his drugs.

Guests laugh along when JK mocks them - making them look daft.

Guests don't seem to take any pride in their personal appearance.

They all shout and scream like children, despite them having children themselves.

I hate JK, but I hate the attitudes and lifestyles of the majority of his guests even more.

Only watched it this morning because I couldn't find the remote.

As much as people say that people like this are in the minority, JK has been running for over five years, five days a week, with at least two new guests per show.

If anyone believes for one minute that that show has the best interests of its guests at heart then they are beyond naive. The guests are bullied and manipulated, and as for counselling they won't get more than a quick chat to make sure they can't sue the show for not receiving any.

Loobylou222 · 10/10/2012 15:40

That's my point fishwife they need HELP not to be looked down upon!

Loobylou222 · 10/10/2012 15:41

What does personal appearance have to do with anything? What happened to 'beauty is only skin deep'?

They don't help them. And being humiliated, goaded, mocked and encouraged to greater and greater hysteria in the persuit of ratings won't suddenly give thir children an insight that would otherwise have passed them by.

What is worse is that the programme convinces those who chose be convinced that the world is filled with the useless and the undeserving. People already on the fringes of society just get pushed further and further to the margins.

greeneyed · 10/10/2012 15:45

You are being unreasonable you should be more disgusted with yourself for watching it! It's "entertainment" in it's lowest form extremely exploitative, judgemental and vile.

Loobylou222 · 10/10/2012 15:45

I don't see anyone standing up and trying to help them and make a difference to society though, do you?

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 10/10/2012 15:46

Think I watched this show twice. Never again. Sad thing is (apart from the show itself) is that there is an audience for it.

theodorakis · 10/10/2012 15:46

They are grossly unattractive, not by genes or anything but the style, the teeth, the "leisure wear" and the yellow fingers, it is hard to deny.

JK is a vile insidious little rat and the production company wouldn't get away with baiting puppies the way they do with human beings. It is immoral and shocking. I especially hate the fact that all their adverts between segments are payday loans, housewife bingo and ambulance chasers. Wouldn't this be a useful time to advertise local authority facilities, benefits advice and whatever else may actually help the vulnerable section of people who tune in every day?

LonelyCloud · 10/10/2012 15:47

YABU to stay in the room and watch it. They're deliberately picking the most sensational 'guests' they can find, and then humiliating and baiting them for amusement.

Surely there are other rooms in your home that you could have occupied yourself in until it was over?

greeneyed · 10/10/2012 15:48

"MsBrown according to the left these type of oinks dont exist" Random - Fishwife what on earth is your point?

My best friends brother was in there a while ago, typical JK story of a man being rude about his ex-partner and mother of his child, Friend's brother can be a bit of an idiot and JK told him so before throwing him off the stage,

Friends brother grew up in care after years of abuse, the man he is now is th testament of years of neglect Of course JK didn't know this but being a superior and condescending arsehole treated him dreadfully. He should not have gone into the show but then again making wise choices is not something he is that good at.

Typically there was little after support and he is making his bridges with the mother of his daughter in the old fashioned "talking things over with respect for each others opinions" way.

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 15:49

I see lots of people trying to help those who are worse of than themselves Looby.

Just not on the JK show.

butisthismyname · 10/10/2012 15:50

There was a chap on on Monday (yes I watch it on my days off whilst cleaning the house ) who was adamant he hadn't been offered any 'aftercare'. Along the bottom of the screen it repeatedly kept saying 'x was offered blah blah blah but refused it' 'Graham' came on to reiterate this and the chaps family said he had been offered and refused drugs counselling. What's the truth???

JakeBullet · 10/10/2012 15:50

And Fishwife definitely show concern but referring to people as "links" is typical of the smug Tory right. Just saying,

Scrumptiouslyyummy · 10/10/2012 15:50

That's alright Lady. HaHa Grin

Wonder what rehab some guests are sent to. Hmm As for Graham, the Genius. OMGaaaD! Someone needs to tell JK that Einstein was a Genius. Graham is not a genius. Graham is just Graham.

butisthismyname · 10/10/2012 15:51

I hate hate hate the ways JK shouts at people with addiction problems - 'why weren't you LOOKING AFTER YOUR DAUGHTER? OH BECAUSE YOU WERE DRINKING YOURSELF INTO A STUPOR!!!' No idea has he really?

Fishwife1949 · 10/10/2012 15:52

LonelyCloud they Humiliate themslevs not knowing which brother is the father of your child is not down to JK how ever much of a pratt he is

They dont make good choice hence why there in the bind they are and hence argeeing to go on Jk what a shock

ShirleyRots · 10/10/2012 15:53

They have people on those shows who are clearly suffering from terrible mental health problems, addictions, self destructive behaviours and the way they are dealt with is appalling.

Fishwife1949 · 10/10/2012 15:53

The thing i hate about him most is didnt he used to gambel so he is a big H and he hardly sees his daughter who has moved to oz to be free of the kyle curse

Loobylou222 · 10/10/2012 15:53

I agree with your about the adverts theodorakis jk used to be sponsored by isc learning, so yes they should think about advertising but at the end of the day it's all about money making isn't it? Again though what does appearance have to do with anything, ppl are free to wear what they like, and remember some of these ppl are extremely poor.

Fishwife1949 · 10/10/2012 15:54

It should not be allowe but it is also i think BGT has somthing to answer for as well

charlienash25 · 10/10/2012 15:54

My friend appeared on the show a few years ago with her fella - he was obsessed that she was cheated - she passed the lie detector and he refused to do one. They got alot of care from the after team.

They also got a nice little sum of money for appearing on television to air their dirty laundry.

As I say this was nearly 5 years ago...it has got alot worse over the years
