Does he identify as police on FB? If so, then yes, he brings the service into disrepute, if not, then no, not an issue. Those are the disciplinary facts of the matter. Taste or humour don't really come into it.

Yes, I'm a journalist. But i wouldn't compare a newspaper report to one liner on a FB page.

DH has a friend in the police who regularly shares "jokes" like this that we find unfunny and in poor taste. I'm not sure if it's his way of dealing with all the things he sees and hears as part of his job, but it doesn't reflect we'll on him or his colleagues, in my opinion. They come across as bigoted idiots to me.
