Congratulations of course!

And to you too Countess

BlueSkySinking · 28/09/2012 17:01

Are you always this mean?

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff · 28/09/2012 17:02

ah yes MrsDeVere FB wasn't invented when DD was born and I only found Netmums when she was 1 yo (i only used it for the meet-a-mum thing honest!)

nickeldaisical · 28/09/2012 17:02

we didn't send out our christmas cards until 15th december to avoid that!

DD was due on 26th november, but was born on 12th december - it was so close that we thought it was worth using the same stamps for the birth announcement Grin

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 28/09/2012 17:05

I think it is cute (on your side Brian Wink).

I agree with the poster who said it is odd when it signed off from the bump by name though - Love Kate, John and Eva when Eva is a 30 week bump. That's weird.

I am less keen on pets, but that is because I am not a pet person, so am assuming it is my issue not theirs.

SecretCermonials · 28/09/2012 17:06

Im just elated to be pregnant after trying for over two years, and being 6 and a half months now have been signing everything from "secret, mr.secret, master secret and bump" and if you dont like it well shove it i reckon Smile

RightsaidFreud · 28/09/2012 17:06

Everyone has an opinion on everything. I've certainly become more judgy since joining MN. Haven't we all? Grin

Gentleness · 28/09/2012 17:07

If you've ever had a pregnancy that didn't result in a living child, you see a "bump" as being precious and having an identity in a really specific way. For me, 2 children and 5 miscarriages, to send love from our family and include "bump" in that has a precious meaning and those near and dear to me know it. But I also know many, many women who never shared that they had a miscarriage, or struggled with infertility, or whatever it may be. So in anything related to pregnancy I try to give the benefit of the doubt. It's just kinder and brings something a little warmer than cynicism into my day.

dinkystinky · 28/09/2012 17:17

It isnt for everyone but YABU - they are excited and if their baby is anything like mine were when gestating, the bump probably has earned its own postcode now so bloody well deserves a place in teh card.

Congrats to all the upduffed ladies on here.

drummerswife · 28/09/2012 17:20

my sil sent a xmas card once signed her,bil and taylor [who wasn't even born] but then when she was born she changed the name to milly

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 28/09/2012 17:22

Drummers - was that Taylor for a boy or a girl. Cos the story is even funnier if it was a boy name. This is why I recommend sticking with 'bump'!

kissyfur · 28/09/2012 17:22

YABU, what difference does it really make to you?! Stop being so grumpy and just be happy the people sending the card are happy.

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/09/2012 17:24

Jeebus you'd hate out cards op, I sign them from myself and DP then the kids wade in and add their names, the 3 cat's names and the "bump" Grin they then finish with a zillion hearts and kisses, regardless of who you are.

NameChangeGalore · 28/09/2012 17:26

Oh my goodness, I though judy was pregnant!! That would have been news!

Dozer · 28/09/2012 17:27

Titsalina, even I would melt if received anything with childrens' writing/kisses, that's v sweet.

To clarify i wouldnt put DCs name, mainly as this time we know what we are having and so do nearest family and friends but have chosen not to tell anyone his name. Even with DS1 after a while we included him in cards as bump, as again i was elated to have conceived after 14 months.

I dont know if it is a brain shift at a point - ie you factor baby into everything else, or just the struggles and losses we went trough, but it would be weirder to me not to include bump... He is a part of our family already!

Weirder still would be someone taking aversion to that though Grin

drummerswife · 28/09/2012 17:29

haha no it was a girl

TheCatInTheHairnet · 28/09/2012 17:30

I once laughed to my Mum that I found this annoying and she promptly went to the drawer and pulled out a card signed, "TheCatInTheHairnet, Mr Hairnet, Master Hairnet and Bump".

I shut up.

Viviennemary · 28/09/2012 17:31

If people want to be total idiots that's up to them. Glad I don't know anybody who would do this.

WorraLiberty · 28/09/2012 17:33

YANBU OP

Love Worra and beer belly bump xx

diddl · 28/09/2012 17:33

It wouldn´t have occurred to me to do it.

When I was pregnant, everyone who I wanted to know did know.

No need to remind them/keep on about it.

Signet2012 · 28/09/2012 17:36

You would hate me..

I not only sign the card from my dog but I also draw a little paw next to it!

gets her coat

FizzyLaces · 28/09/2012 17:36

I like it :)

I always give Christmas and Birthday cards and presents to my DP and DCs from the cats. Is that as weird?

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/09/2012 17:37

not only do i sign cards from the bump AND the cat, the bump also sent dp a father's day card.

do i get a prize Grin

honeytea · 28/09/2012 17:37

YABU

I love putting from honeytea, mr honey tea and bump.. I might start doing bellybutton prints on the card in place of a signiture from the bump.

Yours honeytea and honeybump x
