ACH NO Sad

Madmum24 · 28/09/2012 11:40

Firstly how do you know they receive tax credits? Even if they are, it doesn't mean that they are scroungers. New laws mean that in a two parent family if only one parent works they must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to qualify ie almost full time. Many jobs offered now are 28 hours per week therefore under the threshold, resulting on many people on means tested benefits when they really don't want to be (but that is a side issue)

Different families can live on different amounts. We are very frugal, buy nearly all clothes etc from carboot sales/charity shops. I put my child benefit into trust fund for my childrens university fund. Most fruit/veg is from supermarket bargain section. We could easily afford to go on holiday every year. I have friends though where both husband /wife are earning £30k+ EACH. They complain constantly about never having any money, but when you look at how they manage money very poorly it isn't surprising they are in debt.

So YABU

Sassybeast · 28/09/2012 11:40

Am a feckless single mother working part time who gets tax credits Am taking the kids on holiday abroad. How I have budgeted to pay for it is not

a shiny shite of your business OP, because it is neither illegal or immoral.

'throws the bird to the OP and waits to be deleted. Again'

thedogsrolex · 28/09/2012 11:42

Sorry mrsjay...didn't mean to burst your bubble.

NellyJob · 28/09/2012 11:44

that's right, each family has their own priorities and how a family pays for a holiday/car/days out/trust fund/ whatever is nobody else's damn business.

SaraSidle · 28/09/2012 11:59

Ah, so op isn't coming back I guess!

quoteunquote · 28/09/2012 12:05

arthurfowlersallotment · 28/09/2012 12:09

Oh fuck off woman. You can't even grasp posting on here.

ouryve · 28/09/2012 12:12

I'd offer you a Biscuit or 3, OP, but I'm sure you agree that you need to stand on your own feet and provide your own instead of scrounging them off other people.
