I drove past the scene of an annoying and puzzling incident from my childhood today and immediately framed a retrospective AIBU post in my mind.

In case you were interested the incident was the occasion of me being invited on a friend's birthday treat which involved me coming along to watch my friend having a riding lesson, who invites children to watch other children having a treat?

Anyone else have a childhood memory that would make a good AIBU post?

AIBU to expect something different to sugar and apple sandwiches when staying over at a friend's house for tea.

AIBU to disagree with my mother when she tells me that, as a doctor's wife, I have a certain position is society and should not be wearing flared jeans with frayed hems!

AIBU to screech and scream furiously at my children for not helping enough for a huge party I'm holding tonite? My daughter will have to stand at the door handing out nametags for the first half hour or so, too, or do you think she'll need to wait there at least an hour? I'm just not sure... She's very antisocial & doesn't seem to like parties, she's always sneaking off to read books when we take her to other parties, so I think this will be good for her.

AIBU to have a live-in housekeeper who is working here illegally? Lots of other women I know do this, it's normal in our social set, and the only way we can manage to work ourselves.

AIBU to regularly smoke pot with my teenage nieces? My husband has a senior position in law enforcement, btw.

AIBU to feel cross when DH says my baking is nearly as good as shop bought and my soup is nearly as good as his mother's.

AIBU to be send DD1 to her room? I asked her to pop down the paper shop with the usual not to get me 20 raffles, and she refused. Something about 'Nick O Teen'? The little madam is sticking to her guns, even though if I had to go without my fags, she'd go without tea.

AIBU not to tell my MIL that we have now had a phone installed in the house and to scramble to unplug and hide it if she turns up to visit?

AIBU to think that you don't need a fire guard. DD will only make the mistake of tripping and falling into the fire once?

AIBU to think that a child should not be using a sharp knife? Ok I'm I'll in bed long term and ok dd is doing a lot of the cooking but she is only 12 and surely it's FAR more dangerous to let her have access to a sharp knife than for her to use the butter knife to peel the veg.

AIBU to think that clothes don't matter to a teenager?

AIBU to think the neighbours son is possibly stalking me and probably a devil worshipped because he plays Eye of the Tiger a lot and has his bedroom window open? He's obviously trying to scare me.

AIBU to want to grow my hair out of the Queenie perm style that every woman seems to have. Infact feck it I dont even like curly hair.
(All lies as my Mother never swore) The perm is true though.

AIBU to insist that DD cycles 3 miles home (and obviously the same back again) from her Sunday job so that she can have a proper family lunch.

I think it is so important for us all to sit down together even if it does mean that DD is exhausted when she finishes her 13 hour shift.

AIBU to lay the 'blame' for my 4 DCs squarely at my DH's feet? It is, after all, the man's responsibility for contraception and there is no way that I, as a woman, can take any control over the number of DCs I bring into the world?

AIBU to let my DCs know that there are too many of them and that I didn't want 4 DCs...and to let them always wonder which ones I would happily have not given birth to?

AIBU to make my DD crouch down below the living room window with me and be silent as to not be heard/seen by my overly enthusiastic and PITA aunt when she come knocking?

I do have to admit she was one of a kind (God rest her soul) and I can honestly say I would 100% do the same now should she still be around!

AIBU to whack seven shades of crap out of my DD for repeating words that she heard at the shit school I sent her to? She has no idea what the words mean, but best beat them out of her anyway, right?

AIBU to give my four children a telling off for complaining they don't like the smoke making their eyes stream and their throats sore during the nine hour car ride to England for their holiday? I mean only three of the four adults in the car were smoking. They had the cheek to ask us to open some windows too - far too cold for that.

Also, AIBU to think it's perfectly safe for four adults and four children to travel in a normal sized family saloon car? The child wedged between the two front seats seems to think it's a problem that he had to move his legs to allow his father to change gears? Two adults and three children have plenty of room in the back I would say too!

AIBU to slap my child because other children are running round wild and I can't slap them - although she's stood quietly at my side and just asked a polite question?
