To think that if a thread is pulled due to troll hunting

and MNHQ have evidence/reason to suspect that the poster is either a troll or not a troll, it would be nice if we could be told. or something! I'd certainly like to know if someone had taken me for a mug.

@SuperB0F

I didn't post on it , but yes, can you freeze threads at, say, a year past active?

We could certainly think about it, SuperBOF. Thanks to you, and Worra, for suggesting.

SuePurblybilt · 22/09/2012 23:02

Kitchen cos that's where my washing machine is. It could have been a futility room, granted.

SuePurblybilt · 22/09/2012 23:02

Imagine, though, if MNHQ could see into our kitchens. I'd be drummed out, for squalor and slatternly behaviour.

HolyAutumnGoldBatman · 22/09/2012 23:03

You have a futility room, sue? Posh!

WorraLiberty · 22/09/2012 23:03

Oh blimey Zombie of course Shock Thanks

I irritate the fuck out of myself with my own posting style at times Grin

IvorHughJanus · 22/09/2012 23:03

What has washing machines got to do with it?! Stop changing the rules! Confused

Am not re-hashing, Helen, promise I'm fishing for info

SuperB0F · 22/09/2012 23:04

Oh God, I've inadvertently agreed with Worra Shock.

I pretty much always agree with Worra. It's intensely irritating because she almost always types quicker than me then I find myself putting 'I agree with Worra' like some sort of droid-ish Gordon Brown with nothing original to say.

Cow-bag Hmm

BlackberryIce · 22/09/2012 23:06

sue I'd be fine! I have a butterdish and an apron with MATCHING oven gloves. No kittens. My kitchen would pass

SuePurblybilt · 22/09/2012 23:06

No, not me. The woman with the ex-kittens, god love 'em.
I long for a futilty room.

I will take your word for it whimsy. I probably don't, no. I think I'd rather stay away from anything that talks about kittens and death in the same sentence, doesn't sound that lovely.

SuePurblybilt · 22/09/2012 23:08

I have a butterdish too. Butterdish AND squalor, which adds to the horror, in a way. Decaying grandeur or something.

IvorHughJanus · 22/09/2012 23:08

Although to someone who didn't see it the rest of you appear to be speaking gibberish....

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 22/09/2012 23:08

Its the top of a slippery slope that, B0F Wink.

WorraLiberty · 22/09/2012 23:10

I agree with Ivor Grin

BOF let's never speak of this moment again Shock

IamtheZombie · 22/09/2012 23:11

Zombie has two (count them - 2) butterdishes AND squalor, Sue.

TheOneAndOnlyMaryZed · 22/09/2012 23:11

See, I support Helen on this.

It's pretty impossible to prove a negative.

So while it is (relatively) easy for mnhq to come on and say "we believe the op is genuine, we have evidence that she has posted consistently under one name, we have no evidence she has sockpuppeted or made things up" it is pretty impossible to say "we know the op is a troll".

To prove trolling, you have to prove namechanging and sockpuppeting from one IP address (which anyone who was trolling seriously wouldn't do).

btw, I agree with freezing at a year past active with the exception of threads that the op wants to update. There are few very long-running threads which have gone on for year and are very interesting (the going away to college one is an example).

SuePurblybilt · 22/09/2012 23:13

Aha! So maybe it is our middle class fripperies that CAUSE the squalor, Zombie?
deffo not arsing around on MN instead of cleaning

TheOneAndOnlyMaryZed · 22/09/2012 23:13

And I had too many windows open for too long, so my post is completely redundant.

I agree with the "suspend, post a reason, and keep (suspended) for 24 hours".

I just possibly might have suggested this before

TheCalmingManatee · 22/09/2012 23:15

So, what would the reason behind suspending a thread be? what would happen/ would it disappear and then come back, or just be stuck there in our "threads i'm on" list taunting us?

OP posts:
IamtheZombie · 22/09/2012 23:15

Obviously, Sue. Grin

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 22/09/2012 23:16

I don't have a butter dish, but I do have a kitchen island that is permanently covered in crap no matter how often I clear it off. Will that do?
