Infact, I never do it. I couldn't have a slow cooker!

If we have a Sunday roast we usually eat it in the evening but if I have to do it for lunchtime I flat out refuse to do any food prep until midday, so lunchtime slips to about 2/3pm in our house.

Is it just me?

Just you.

FermezLaBouche · 19/09/2012 18:38

Oooh I LOVE it! This is so sad, but on a saturday morning I get up at 7ish and go straight to tesco to do weekly shop. Then I get home and make loads of meals for the freezer.... I LOVE cooking :)

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 19/09/2012 18:39

Still only you.

WelshMaenad · 19/09/2012 18:39

The freezer is your friend.

Make stew, spag bol, chilli portions ahead of time, freeze and then take out and slam in the microwave while you boil rice or spuds and veg.

You can start at 12.00 and eat by 1.00 pm that way.

Pandemoniaa · 19/09/2012 18:43

No, it's not just you. I've never been able to face the thought of fannying about with meat and stuff at a time when even the thought of breakfast is a challenge. So while I've got a slow cooker, it never gets used in the morning.

Christmas Lunch is served at 4.00 in our family. None of us think the best way to start the day is by wrestling with turkeys at silly o'clock in the morning.

Catsdontcare · 19/09/2012 18:44

Yes surely you don't hand out cereal on Christmas morning Sad

Mintyy · 19/09/2012 18:44

Christmas Day is the only exception, Chaos, but we don't really eat until about 5pm.

Pandemoniaa · 19/09/2012 18:46

Why wouldn't you hand out cereal on Christmas Day? It's not as if you aren't planning to eat your own weight in nibbles and Christmas Dinner throughout the day?

I can't face anything complicated before 9am. I do have a slow cooker that I use regularly, but I prepare everything the night before, leave it in the fridge, then tip it in the slow cooker in the morning.

NettoSuperstar · 19/09/2012 18:52

I love cooking, love it, live for it, but not in the morning.
In the morning I busily sit down.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/09/2012 18:52

And sliving...
