Infact, I never do it. I couldn't have a slow cooker!

If we have a Sunday roast we usually eat it in the evening but if I have to do it for lunchtime I flat out refuse to do any food prep until midday, so lunchtime slips to about 2/3pm in our house.

Is it just me?

YANBU.

I did do a slow cooker thing this morning, but I don't enjoy it.

Bacon and eggs doesn't count as cooking though, does it?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 19/09/2012 18:54

Nor does scrambled eggs and smoked salmon (which is what normal people have on Christmas morning, if they want summat more than cereals or toast with their Lambrini Champagne).

CouthyMowWearingOrange · 19/09/2012 18:59

Nope, not just you. Cooking is for the evening, not morning. And as for Christmas day, we have crackers with cream cheese and smoked salmon for brekkie.

Spottyblancmange · 19/09/2012 19:00

YANBU, I don't either. Toast and microwave-made oatmeal is generally as fancy as I get.

(DD could never eat an actual breakfast on Christmas morning. She's always far too excited to eat until about 11am, at which point the very favourites out of her selection box, plus some of the assorted nibbles are consumed as her brunch. We tend to have toast like normal. I accept we are probably doing this wrong!)

Christmas = Roses/quality street.

Cannot slow cook them, ready made yummy!!

OhTheConfusion · 19/09/2012 19:06

I take a very rare notion to cook before midday and normaly regret it when my kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off and it's not even lunchtime!

picnicbasketcase · 19/09/2012 19:07

Breakfast at Christmas = entire selection box, surely?

Nope, even in the week we can often be found cooking pasta or rice to go in flasks for lunch whilst we have breakfast!

KellyElly · 19/09/2012 20:43

That's what Marks is for. Just open the packets of meat, mash, roasties, buttered veg and cook and voila a perfect roast :)
