Stupid.

rubyslippers · 18/09/2012 10:36

Course it doesn't matter

Silly woman (drinks lady not you OP )

BarredfromhavingStella · 18/09/2012 10:37

Pretty daft really, DS has quite a few pink things which were his sisters.....

Callisto · 18/09/2012 10:39

The only time it matters is when idiotic people insist that girls have to wear pink and can't possibly wear blue and boys have to wear blueand can't possibly wear pink. There are an awful lot of idiots in the world though.

Did you challenge this woman and her stupidity or just dramatically roll your eyes in her direction?

aldiwhore · 18/09/2012 10:41

Its stupid, its a CUP ffs... grrr.

Saying that, despite my best efforts not to gender stereotype, my sons both refuse anything pink because they feel that its a girls colour, and despite my best efforts, they 'don't like girls'.

An adult shouldn't be disallowing free colour choice though.

DawnOfTheDee · 18/09/2012 10:42

Thank god that woman was there! Your DS could have easily caught the gayness if he'd kept that pink cup Confused

Seriously though, I'm surprised that this sort of thing actually happens - I'm not doubting you OP, I just find it a bit sad as I've seen quite a few threads about this recently.

MrsKeithRichards · 18/09/2012 10:43

Grin at don't like girls!

His granny and I are the only girls ds likes!

goldenlula · 18/09/2012 10:48

Very silly, mine get whatever cup is at hand first. Aldiwhore my 4 year old assures me girls smell Hmm, unlike his 6 year old brother whose best friend is a girl and his future wife apparently!

hlipop · 18/09/2012 10:48

if my oldest couldn't have her choice of colour she would have made a tantrum!! what is the point in letting them pick their own if their not actually allowed to pick their choice?? i regularly but my daughters boys pj's / long sleeved tops because they have 'better pictures' or seem more suitable for messy play imo

SomebodySaveMe · 18/09/2012 10:49

At nursery if they ask for a specific colour and make a big fuss then they get the opposite. I was so sick of one child informing a little boy that he was a girl with a pink cup.

hlipop · 18/09/2012 10:50

made a tantrum?? i mean thrown

mamamibbo · 18/09/2012 10:50

omg can he catch gayness??? do you think e should take the pink fuzzy socks off then?

OxfordBags · 18/09/2012 11:18

My DS will only drink out of a pink beaker! How do I cure him of Teh Gayness? Will it give him Bad Aids? Won't somebody think of the children?!

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 18/09/2012 11:19

Don't put boys in pink or allow them to touch anything pink. They will catch the gay! It's contagious don't you know

Sirzy · 18/09/2012 11:20

I would have asked her what she thinks will happen if a boy drinks from a pink cup?

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 18/09/2012 11:21

Think Bono and Bob Geldolph will be realising a charity single for boys who like pink.

3monkeys3 · 18/09/2012 11:24

YANBU! My ds1 loves pink and always chooses cakes with pink icing, etc, it would never occur to me to stop him! Also my dd has more blue in her wardrobe than pink - it suits her and she likes it - she is beautiful with longish curly hair but the practice nurse at the GP looked at my brood and said 'ooooh, 3 boys' because she was wearing (frilly) dungarees with a blue (flowery!) top. When I corrected her, she said 'but you've put her in blue' like it was some form of abuse! How ridiculous!

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:05

I fress my DS in pink everyday head to foot. I am very liberal dontcha know..

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 18/09/2012 12:10

BigHairyFlowers · 18/09/2012 12:15

I took DS to a party when he was wearing a pink t shirt, there were so many SIOBs it actually caused a tornado on Mars.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:16

Lol SPS noo I live in hope :(

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:17

BigHairyFlowers · 18/09/2012 12:20

I'm off to whack his white and red school shirts into a hot wash together.

shesariver · 18/09/2012 12:22

I have a 19 year old DS who has a lovely pale pink jumper and also a lurid pink T shirt and matching shorts....I think by the time it gets to this age it doesnt matter as much, very nice he looks toSmile

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 18/09/2012 12:22

I always wanted a gay best friend so I'm going to get close to a male then start making him wear pink and ta da! Gay best friend!
