I was just thinking about my past sexual encounters and I remembered an old boyfriend of mine who used to put on 'sex' or so he thought hiphop on whilst we were making love. Hmm Anyone else had worse? Even really slushy music would just be cheesy and wrong.

Ew, do blokes really have special 'sex music'? I can just imagine them downloading a load of tracks for those special occasions . Thankfully I've never experienced it, but I reckon something like 'Lady in Red', or any song with my name in it would be the worst.

EverlongYouAreGoldAndOrange · 16/09/2012 09:39

Agree.

Never been into sexy music whilst on the job. Or any music in fact.

floradix · 16/09/2012 09:39

One ex put on Barry White for special.
BW sounded like he was growling in the background, ex started to sing along and I started to laugh hysterically.

Which killed the mood stone dead.

MrsToddsShortcut · 16/09/2012 10:56

Ah. Romantic sex music!

My (thankfully long lost) teenage ex used to put on AC/DC, Back in Black (although I suspect that this may have been to drown out any...ahem...'noises', so his parents didn't twig what we were doing) Grin

But for some reason, the idea of adults using 'sexy' music to 'get them in the mood' always makes me think of Kenny G...

My (male) friend always used to put that saxophone solo from the music in the film Bladerunner. Will have quick Google. Ah. It's actually called "Love Theme" according to the Wik. We always used to snurk about this. Hope he's not reading.

PretzelTime · 16/09/2012 11:00

What is it with some men and background music? Terribly unsexy and laughable. Especially if you have a complete different taste in music and their plain sucks. Like...heavy metal - wow that makes me want to punch you in the face not have sex.

discophile · 16/09/2012 11:01

Such a blokey thing to do - the poor dears. My first boyfriend used to get up immediately afterwards and put on reggae and stand next the controls twiddling the bass/volume.

Mrsjay · 16/09/2012 11:02

My first real BF used to put chris de burgh on It didn't last long cos he was an arse and ever time I hear lady in red i feel a little queasy

PretzelTime · 16/09/2012 11:05

It's really distracting isn't. The only practical purpose would be to drown out sex noises.

Mrsjay · 16/09/2012 11:07

I have left the tv on to drown out any noises that children might hear Blush

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 16/09/2012 11:14

An ex used to put on Enya. Bleurgh.

ScrambledSmegs · 16/09/2012 11:16

A guy at Uni (proper rocker type) got me back to his room and promptly put Mariah Carey on 'to set the mood'. I left.

Mrsjay · 16/09/2012 11:16

poor you {{hug}}

MsVestibule · 16/09/2012 11:17

We live opposite a pub, so TBH, I'd rather listen to a bit of Barry during our Saturday Night Shenanigans than screeching drunks and taxis revving their diesel engines and repeatedly beeping their horns. Really puts me off my stride.

Disclaimer - we don't actually listen to BW during our SNS; just saying it would be preferable.

ByTheSea · 16/09/2012 11:19

I like background music but nothing cheesy. The blues work for me as sexy music.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 16/09/2012 11:20

I can't deal with music during sex. I unconsciously try to match the rythym...

It's really stressful if you're a fan of speed metal!

CapuccinoCannoliLover · 16/09/2012 11:26

It is wrong.

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 16/09/2012 14:33

Thanks MrsJay

Of a gazillion reasons he's an ex. Grin

Jazzicatz · 16/09/2012 14:38

Can't believe none of you have a 'erection section'! I still have one...just in case! Grin

PretzelTime · 16/09/2012 16:30

What the heck is that Jazzicatz.

MrsToddsShortcut · 16/09/2012 16:51

A 'special' section of Jazzicatz's music, where all the Enya, Chris de Burgh and Barry White is kept?

scentednappyhag · 16/09/2012 16:55

It's not just men, my XGF had a special sex cd, it was terrible elevator type music, but she always put it on as it was the longest one Grin outs self

SchrodingersMew · 16/09/2012 16:58

I quite like some black/death metal on in the background. :)
