To think Peaches Geldof should have strapped her baby in?

and also, put the phone down when her baby fell out of his pram!

Have just seen photos of her poor baby tumbling out of his pram onto a pavement. I know the council should have sorted the pavement out, but he wouldnt have fallen out if he was strapped in :(

sorry for The Sun link

And no one helped you, HoneyTea? How nice of them to tut and judge!

Kayano · 10/09/2012 10:58

I've done that and my mum did say 'you're getting out on the wrong floor'

I laughed and said 'I hadn't realised, how bloody daft!'

So yes (debenhams newcastle FYI)

FreudiansGoldSlipper · 10/09/2012 11:02

how long does it take to move your head to the side to keep the phone there all of 0.002 seconds and i doubt no time was taking up thinking about it, it was just done

i once hitched up my pencil wiggle dress to pick ds up when he had fallen over, probably would have saved 0.00003 seconds if i had bent down and ripped the dress alas i am not a perfect mummy

porcamiseria · 10/09/2012 11:04

If you all want to judge parents, go here

WARNING SENSITIVE

these fuckers need judging, not a likely sleep deprived first time Mum

honeytea · 10/09/2012 11:05

Nope no one helped :/ not even the boots staff. Ds was fine and I felt awful, I'm a little obsessed about holding onto prams with both hands now, I feel like going up to mums at train stations and telling them to hold the pram, I realise I would cone across as crazy so I have to restrain myself.

Tweasels · 10/09/2012 11:06

Feel free to judge Peaches Geldof's tv shows/pop songs or whatever it is she does in the public eye (I'm not actually sure what she does so apologies if I have wrong) That does not mean she doesn't love her son or values her phone more. It is impossible to make a judgement on someone based on photo's some bastard paparazzi has taken.

With hindsight she more than anyone will know she should have strapped him in. There could be a million reasons why she held on to the phone. She probably could clearly see the baby was ok. We don't know how fast the pram tipped over. She may have felt totally in control at the time. Who knows?

And of course she lied about it on twitter. She's not going to want people to know she's made a mistake. No one wants to be judged on their parenting skills. Let's just hope she doesn't read this.

I didn't realise knocking the confidence of and slating young new mums was on the mumsnet agenda.

worldcitizen · 10/09/2012 11:06

What is this all about?????

you perfect mothers you are all wonderful you never made mistakes

Hmm Hmm Hmm

Kayano · 10/09/2012 11:06

Again with the sleep
Deprived? We don't know this at all Hmm She may have overnight help, the dad might do it
Baby might sleep through
Baby might have been with grandad bob

Not every mother is sleep deprived

diddl · 10/09/2012 11:08

"mmm and the photographer stood there taking loads of pics instead of putting down the camera and rushing to help"

Maybe there were other people closer who also didn´t help?

JeremyKylesPetProject · 10/09/2012 11:08

Yikes. Poor Peaches. Its times like this I'm glad I'm an anonymous nobody. When I went arse over tit, the pram flipped right over. Luckily dd was strapped in but I was mortified none the less. I went home and sobbed my heart out. I still feel guilty now 3 years later even though she was fine and it was me with a sprained wrist, twatted up knee and bruised pride.
As for the pap who took the shots, She had no clue she was being papped which means they must have been a fair distance away. She should have strapped him in and she will everytime she leaves the house from now on. I'm sure she's learned her lesson. (Naturally the hard way and under the judgement of others).

worldcitizen · 10/09/2012 11:08

All the hindsight of other mothers helped me with my foresight when I became a new mother.

SomersetONeil · 10/09/2012 11:11

Or... She could be sleep deprived......? It's more likely that she is, after all, it pretty goes with the new-parent territory.

Seriously, not strapping a baby into a pram is - sadly - really, really, really not the worst thing that happens to otherwise loved babies...

BupcakesandCunting · 10/09/2012 11:11

Even if she isn't sleep deprived (although as she is a relatively new mother it's not exactly themost absurd conclusion to jump to Hmm) she is still a NEW MUM. Have you forgot what that feels like, when everything you do is for the first time? No amount of parenting books can prepare you for accidents. I'm sure she will look out for mangled pavements now but until an accident happens, there are things that don't even register on your radar as dangerous.

me23 · 10/09/2012 11:12

Grin also loving arthurflower's concern for Sophie!
Peaches must be really embarrassed by this I'm sure she will strap baby into car seat from now on. We have all made mistakes, only we are not papped making them for all to judge.

Prarieflower · 10/09/2012 11:12

"anonymous nobody" Peaches works hard to ensure she isn't just this, she Tweets pics daily of said son for the whole world to see, prob has some deal with the Mail too as they always end up there.

Sorry making mistakes in the public eye I have no sympathy for in this case.If you make money out of pushing your Dlist celebism you take the rough with the smooth and don't get to cherry pic what the rest of the world see.

MNhoneydragonHQ · 10/09/2012 11:12

My daughter after I tipped over her pushchair

I still feel awful now.

SomersetONeil · 10/09/2012 11:13

All you mothers out there who've purportedly never, ever made a mistake need to get yourself a teeny, tiny bit of perspective over this.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/09/2012 11:13

The first time I took my elderly mum out in her wheelchair, I forgot to put the brakes on and while I was paying the taxi she careered into a bush Blush
We all make mistakes, and luckily we were nowhere near a busy road.
I must admit we both pissed ourselves laughing, though if anybody had seen I'm sure I would have been judged.

Kayano · 10/09/2012 11:14

Of course I haven't forgotten looks at 6mo pfb

I'm a new mum myself
Who uses safety staps and doesn't blame the roads or anyone else when I fuck up

Dd fell off the bed, was totally fast an I tried to get her but couldn't.

That's on me
It's my fault

Not the bed manufacturer for having a sprint mattress

Kayano · 10/09/2012 11:15

Sumerset no one ever has said they have never made a mistake

It's her reactions to her mistake that is annoying

worldcitizen · 10/09/2012 11:17

somerset who said they have never made a mistake?????

Kayano · 10/09/2012 11:17

No one, she's talking shit

FreudiansGoldSlipper · 10/09/2012 11:18

i do not know any new mother who did not complain that their brain didn't function properly

maybe i just hang about with bad non judgemental sometimes do things wrong and at times take the easy option mummys. they are better company :)

ScooseIsLoose · 10/09/2012 11:18

She said on twitter the baby was strapped in and his weight popped the fastening open Hmm

JeremyKylesPetProject · 10/09/2012 11:18

Yep. Anonymous nobody suits me fine.
