To ask WWYD / think if your DH shaved their armpits?

A link to the thread on female shaving but from a different perspective. WWYD if your DH / DP decided they wanted to shave their armpits. Not just trim them. But bare. Not because of an advantage for sports but because they thought it might just be a change.

Would it not bother you as it's their choice? Or would you be concerned?

As my dh generally can't be atsed to shave his face, I em would be shocked if he decided to start shaving his legs/underarms Grin

I would also be a little gutted as due to extremely unpleasant skin reactions earlier this year, I've given up on hair removal...

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 07/09/2012 19:24

Mine trims it as it gets ridiculously long.

TiggyD · 07/09/2012 19:55

I do it, but I'm a screaming great nancy.

LynetteScavo · 08/09/2012 18:40

I suggested it to DH today.

He said "No thank you. And I don't want my chest waxed either." But then he's a wuss.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 08/09/2012 18:45

It would bother me more if DH didnt shave his pits and pubes.

maybenow · 08/09/2012 19:20

I'd be quite surprised and a bit weirded out, mainly cause he's a bit hairy all over - it'd be a bit like a woman leaving her legs or pits au natural but shaving off all her pubes.

If he was going to remove anything first i'd expect it to be his back/shoulder fuzz as that's least socially acceptable isn't it?

maybenow · 08/09/2012 19:21

BUT... my DH is in his mid-40s and never takes his shirt off in public unless forced to at a swimming pool, most 20yr olds i've seen wandering around topless have no hair on their upper torso at all so shaving their pits wouldn't surprise me at all.

lovebunny · 08/09/2012 19:25

i'd think he was a body-builder or a transvestite. not sure which is worse (or if either is a bad thing). but i have some sympathy with the men who do it to be clean and tidy and not smell. workplace attitudes to the smell of men's underarms have changed significantly in the last few years and what was once considered normal is now thought unacceptable and comments will be made. .

Oakmaiden · 08/09/2012 19:28

I would think he had had a personality transplant...

nkf · 08/09/2012 19:30

I'd think he had too much time on his hands.

My DH shaves his armpits and trims his pubes and has done for years. He doesn't want to be sweaty or smell of sweat. He is in his 40's.

Other male friends of ours do it too and are the same age. One would continue to use Botox in his armpits regularly if it weren't so expensive.

Men do not want to be sweaty and hairy either. My DB has his DW remove his back hair etc.

Local beauty salons offer whole body waxing for men and women and are always full of waiting people of all ages and ethnicities.
