To ask WWYD / think if your DH shaved their armpits?

A link to the thread on female shaving but from a different perspective. WWYD if your DH / DP decided they wanted to shave their armpits. Not just trim them. But bare. Not because of an advantage for sports but because they thought it might just be a change.

Would it not bother you as it's their choice? Or would you be concerned?

I would be surprised but it wouldn't particularly bother me I think.

honeytea · 07/09/2012 17:59

My DP shaves his armpits, and his chest and "manly" area. I don't mind but I'm not great at keeping up my shaving maintenance and i have dark hair and he has very light hair, so he allways looks better groomed then me, but oh well!

My DH has done his armpits quite a few times and has even (whilst drunk!) shaved all his pubes off in a misguided way to turn me on (I don't do sex with drunk people, especially if I'm stone cold sober ffs).
It didn't work and he was itchy for a few days Grin

Mintyy · 07/09/2012 18:04

I would pmsl and tell him to stop being such an idiot.

he's lucky he didn't cut his penis off! you should never shave your intimate area when drunk, especially if it's the 1st time!

MAYBELATERNOWIMBUSY · 07/09/2012 18:13

funnily enough , that hair soakes up the sweat, gives a fella that fella smell, rather than some walking sanitized advert for , for example boots the chemist>>>> men"s "now u can smell like/compete with the girls " to smell like her best mate!

FoofyShmooffer · 07/09/2012 18:14

DH does for hygiene.

I dont care either way.

3monkeys3 · 07/09/2012 18:17

Are hairy feet in men supposed to be weird? I've known a few who've had hairy feet!

LydiasMiletus · 07/09/2012 18:24

Dad and dbro do. Both in police and find in a job that is physical it stops them smelling as much.
Dh trims his pubes. I have no bikini line so just keep my pubes trimmed as well and shave my pits mainly due to the amount I sweat in the gym. My legs don't get done that much.
I don't see how its any different for any of us.

Malificence · 07/09/2012 18:30

I'd be very upset if he did it, I love his hairy armpits, he doesn't sweat a great deal and never smells bad, his natural scent is the sexiest thing in the world to me, that's why I think pubic hair removal is such a bad idea, it removes so much sexual scent.

LynetteScavo · 07/09/2012 18:34

I don't care about hairy feet on men. But manicured toes are nice. Not enough men have manicured toes. I don't mean varnish, just a nice, looking fresh, moisturized foot with well shaped nails and no cuticles.

honeytea · 07/09/2012 18:43

I have hairy toes and I'm a woman, I don't shave them I think they are cute, DP doesn't think they are so cute, but they are not his toes so it's not up to him.

catgirl2012 · 07/09/2012 18:46

Wouldn't bother me. I would like it if he did. He does trim anyway so it wouldnt be a big deal. He sometimes shaves his pubes too

kinkyfuckery · 07/09/2012 18:47

Well, he's obviously a poof, innit!

Is that the answer you were looking for?

freddiefrog · 07/09/2012 18:50

Given that he's never taken male grooming beyond a quick shower and a shave followed by a bit of toenail trimming (while sitting on my side of the fecking bed), I'd think he'd taken leave of his senses, but beyond that, they're his armpits, he can do what he likes to them.

anonacfr · 07/09/2012 18:51

That's exactly it.

MrsPnut · 07/09/2012 18:52

He can do what he likes, if he decides to remove his body hair then good for him. Don't complain to me that it's itchy when it grows back though. :o

As my OH can't be bothered to shave his face when he isn't at work, I can't see him being fussed about his other very sparse body hair.

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/09/2012 18:53

Couldn't care less if he wants to then why not?

Narked · 07/09/2012 18:56

His choice. I wouldn't care either way.

GiserableMitt · 07/09/2012 18:56

IMO men need to leave the hair on their chests if they have any, and certainly on their arms and legs; men have such sexy arms and legs, especially with a bit of a tan swoon
Underarms and pubes - they can all come off if that's what they want from someone who runs the razor over her underarms and pubes

2rebecca · 07/09/2012 18:58

Wouldn't bother me, my bloke sometimes gets the urge to shave random areas, groin, legs (he's a cyclist.) Why not add armpits? No weirder than women shaving various bits.

purplehouse · 07/09/2012 19:08

I would be bothered either way.

EldonAve · 07/09/2012 19:15

I wouldn't care, his choice etc

rogersmellyonthetelly · 07/09/2012 19:16

My dh has recently shaved everything off for a body building competition he has entered. The following day he had horrific shaving rash on his pits and gentlemans area and was itchy as chuff. As I handed him my bottle of soothing lotion, I did comment that perhaps now he wouldn't be as vocal about hairy armpits on women.
Actually I don't care if he's bald or not, but I don't like the stubble on his chest when I'm in bed, it's prickly and distracting!
