To ask WWYD / think if your DH shaved their armpits?

A link to the thread on female shaving but from a different perspective. WWYD if your DH / DP decided they wanted to shave their armpits. Not just trim them. But bare. Not because of an advantage for sports but because they thought it might just be a change.

Would it not bother you as it's their choice? Or would you be concerned?

My DH does, he says it stops him smelling.

cocolepew · 07/09/2012 16:06

Opps meant to add it doesn't bother me, I quite like it tbh. I'm not a fan of long armpit hair on anybody.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 07/09/2012 16:08

my DH has been talking about doing this, to stop the smell. I shall tell him cocolepew's DH does it!

BalloonSlayer · 07/09/2012 16:11

Wouldn't bother me but since the rest of him is so hairy it wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Petsinmypudenda · 07/09/2012 16:15

My Dh does he has a weird scar in one arm pit so the hair grows funny

His body, his choice and all that

Some0ne · 07/09/2012 16:15

Wouldn't bother me, they're his armpits, he can do what he likes with them.

Petsinmypudenda · 07/09/2012 16:16

And he waxes them

bulletwithbutterflywings · 07/09/2012 16:16

I wouldn't think anything of it if thats what he wanted to do. He doesn't like when I have hairy pits or legs (never shown any preference for lady garden styling or lack of though) personally I find hairy armpits very sexy on men and women generally.

FunnysInLaJardin · 07/09/2012 16:17

my DH does, it stops him smelling sweaty. It's fine, I don't notice it at all

fluffyraggies · 07/09/2012 16:20

It would be up to him of course - but i like my DH as nature intended Grin I love his hairy chest and i love his hairy pits. I like his stubble. I love the smell of him.

(he doesn't smell - i just love HIS smell, IYKWIM?!)

LibrariansMakeNovelLovers · 07/09/2012 16:20

Meh. DH has so little hair under his armpits it wouldn't make any difference. I have way more than him (and rarely shave it). If find I sweat more, and smell more, if I shave.

bulletwithbutterflywings · 07/09/2012 16:21

A lot of the men at the gym I use do it, they're body builders rather thanks athletes so I presume its personal preference/ fashion rather than necessity.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 07/09/2012 16:24

Mine does - he works a heavy manual job and gets very hot and sweaty - he prefers as little body hair as possible - he even goes over his chest and back with the clippers to get most of that off without actually being waxed/shaved like a male model smooth iyswim. I don't care if he does or not, it makes no difference to me.

Pickles77 · 07/09/2012 16:25

One of my exes (bloody gorgeous) had a body hair phobia. Used to do everywhere including thighs and arms....
But he was bloomin luffly.
bastard had softer skin than me Wink

HolyParalympicGoldBatman · 07/09/2012 16:26

I'd prefer it, not a fan of hairy men.

CakeBump · 07/09/2012 16:28

My DH does this sometimes when its hot to stop them getting so sweaty (so he says)

I have no opinion on it whatsoever.

WorraLiberty · 07/09/2012 16:30

Lots of men remove their armpit, chest, back, leg, facial and pubic hair nowadays...especially if they do a lot of sports.

CakeBump · 07/09/2012 16:30

Oh fwiw when I met him he used to do chest and back too but I hated the stubble so he stopped....

He has a bit of a thing about not liking his hairy chest but I love it!

BartiiMus · 07/09/2012 16:30

I wouldn't mind. In fact I don't. DH shaves his armpits in the summer - says it helps him keep cool.

cantthinkofadadsname · 07/09/2012 16:31

A lot of men I know would think it was - unmanly. Not the kind of thing real men do.

Like shaving legs. Just not the kind of thing men do.

CailinDana · 07/09/2012 16:32

I be a bit Hmm as he just doesn't do grooming (has a beard, doesn't wear perfume etc) but if he wanted to it wouldn't bother me.

SheelaNeGig · 07/09/2012 16:32

I wouldn't care but it would look very weird as the rest of him is covered in more hair than the average gorilla.

WowOoo · 07/09/2012 16:33

I remember staring at a Morrisey poster when I was young and suddenly realising he had no armpit hair at all. I was a bit surprised that I'd never noticed it earlier.

If dh did it I'd wonder and ask why, but would not mind a jot.... As long as he didn't use my razor.

Petsinmypudenda · 07/09/2012 16:33

Oh god 'real men' shit

Real men don't cry

Blah,blah,blah

Times change

Kayano · 07/09/2012 16:35

Wouldn't bother me, but he wouldn't

I've shaved his back though Blush
