Don't know what's come overme really. It's 20-something degrees outside. But I've been reading about Lakeland Christmas stuff, woolly tunics and boots on here today. Now i just really fancy snuggling under a blanket with hot choc watching reports of Arctic weather on Sky

Noooo. I hate winter. I'm going to struggle even more this year too with my absurdly underpowered car. I will be housebound.

Dawndonna · 06/09/2012 15:30

I like being snowed in, but then again, I have two freezers and I'm always well prepared.
I love snow, and I love rubbish television and snuggly blankets in front of the fire.

tak1ngchances · 06/09/2012 15:31

chops you need snugly blankets and furry slippers to make housebound = good

Winter is so much better when it snows!

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 06/09/2012 15:34

Noooooo! I'm still waiting for summer to start! :(

anairofhope · 06/09/2012 15:34

Me too. I love hot choc and snowangles and all that goes with winter Grin

ViviPru · 06/09/2012 15:34

The Prumobile (aka awesomest car on the roads) is rendered pretty much useless even in the most pathetic, lightest dusting of snow so its an ACE excuse not to go anywhere.

snugly blankets and furry slippers

LaurieFairyCake · 06/09/2012 15:37

We had hot chocolate last night and I had my electric blanket on.

it was lovely for one night but the reality of winter is building the stove up in my house and the temperature in the house never getting above 20 - it heats our radiators but we have a very cold house so it's never really warm.

sugarice · 06/09/2012 15:39

I like the snow and love love love that first snowfall Grin. However I don't drive and the kids have school a 5 minute walk away so no worries about transport! < sorry to those who do>

ViviPru · 06/09/2012 15:39

building the stove up

I want a stove Envy

sugarice · 06/09/2012 15:40

I would love a woodburner!

Grrrr YABU.

I live on a silly new housing estate where fritters don't venture, thus rendering it into an ice rink. Pushchair won't go through snow and when newborn comes I will need a buggy board. I hate snow Angry

LaurieFairyCake · 06/09/2012 15:50
Grin

Did you not read the bit that the stove powers our radiators and without all the work of running it we would actually freeze - and it NEVER gets above 20 degrees in the depths of winter no matter how much I burn. This is due to being tiny/detached and with terrible unimproveable- any- further insulation.

Bring it on. Sodding sunshine and bloody too hot to sleep. Either my menopause has entered stage left in the dark, or it is too hot. sweating last night....
so I for one would welcome winter with open arms (and leg warmers). Love it. rain in the window pane snuggled up in bed with just the tip of your nose over the edge to breath.
crisp mornings. it is just much easier weather to be in most of the time. I am so grumpy and narked off when it is hot.

ENormaSnob · 06/09/2012 16:01

Yadnbu

I love the winter, especially snow.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 06/09/2012 16:04

My fire is already on. :(

dexter73 · 06/09/2012 16:10

Why is everybody so keen for it to be cold? It is warm for about the first time this summer and I am going to enjoy it! Winter is long enough without it starting in September.

sugarice · 06/09/2012 16:11

Laurie sorry for when your freezing your arse off and we're being all whimsy about stoves/wood burners, but they look so Swedish and romantic Grin

sugarice · 06/09/2012 16:11

*you're

Jelly15 · 06/09/2012 16:11

Love the cold frosty and snowy weather too. I work from home and if clients can't get to me they still have to pay for booked appointments so I get to stay home and be paid.

BadgersRetreat · 06/09/2012 16:15

pretty much guaranteed here....will prob get the first snowfall by halloween and will be skiing by the end of November i hope

I love snow - our winters are cold and sunny and snowy and it's lovely. Much nicer than grey damp drizzle IMO

standing at the bus stop when it's -25 is not so nice but that doesn't happen that often.
