VinegarTits = brainwashed too. Grin

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 14:34

I love ironing. I do about 2 hours a week.
My mum liked it too.

However dh does his own.

VinegarTits · 06/09/2012 14:35

i actually hate ironing (hence im thoinking of paying someone now) but i hate creases even more

I think it should be against the law (MNHQ ive been away for nearly two years and you still dont have a [deadpan] emote humph)

I do mostly brush my hair. Though I dont know why it doesnt look any different.

Tee2072 · 06/09/2012 14:36

I do sometimes brush my hair.

Not the same thing at all.

It is perfectly possible to not be creased and not iron. Although I am usually creased even if I do iron. Hence, I don't iron.

VinegarTits · 06/09/2012 14:37

stop it Getorf, your making me fall in love with you now Grin

And Ilove hanging everything up in my wardrobe....hangers all facing the right way, shortsleeves in front, then long sleeves, cardis toward the back.

I have beautifully folded clothes in drawers, and my shoes live in boxes.

(you are all slatterns Grin)

(hugs VinegarTits but not too tightly, to avoid creasing her top)

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 14:38

And I have cedarwood balls in my drawers and have been known to slip a lavender bag in my undies.

Tee2072 · 06/09/2012 14:38

Everything is neatly hung or folded, MrsR. Just not ironed!

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 06/09/2012 14:39

Cedar wood always makes me think of Goldie Hawn in Overboard.

Kewcumber · 06/09/2012 14:40

"I would look all creasey and feel messy" - yes but you get over that eventually and in the time I have saved by not ironing I have written 15 novels.

Kewcumber · 06/09/2012 14:40

I have nothing in my drawers - its all in the ironing pile glaring at me.

VinegarTits · 06/09/2012 14:41

MrsDuvall i do the same, i love seeing my neatly ironed clothes hanging in my wardrobe Grin

Wheres Bella? i know she irons

OP posts:
GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 06/09/2012 14:41

Yes but I can't write 15 novels in 10 minute snatches every day. Grin

I couldn't even make a decent cup of coffee in that time.

Thumbwitch · 06/09/2012 14:44

You see, Kewc, that's where you're going wrong. Having an ironing pile. Just wash it, hang it up, put it away. When you want to wear it, if it's really creased, that's when you iron it if you feel you have to.

Thing about ironing clothes is, once you put them on, after about half an hour sitting in them, guess what! They're creased again anyway.

VinegarTits · 06/09/2012 14:44

'I have nothing in my drawers' could be the title of your next saucy novel Kew? Grin

OP posts:
Trills · 06/09/2012 14:45

Have you really been away that long Vinny? Making lamps out of driftwood and whatnot?

Kewcumber · 06/09/2012 14:45

Now there's an idea VT...

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 06/09/2012 14:45

That's what I do thumb - hang all the stuff up and iron it in the morning.

Not piles of stuff everywhere for the bastarding cats to sit on.

Trills · 06/09/2012 14:45

I have curly hair - it would look significantly worse if I brushed it.

BigBoobiedBertha · 06/09/2012 14:46

YANBU to iron your clothes (except the underwear, that is a step too far) - I can't stand unironed clothes. All this guff about how if you hang them up straight out of the washer or drier and they look fine, it just isn't true. They still look like they haven't been ironed and therefore messy.

Tea towels, duvet covers and pillow cases get ironed or else they won't fit in the cupboard but not fitted sheets (and frankly they do take up more than their fair share of space as a result)

Mind you I don't do all the ironing myself - I don't like doing it. We get somebody to help out with half of it and I do the other half.

JollyHockeyStick · 06/09/2012 14:47

I don't iron. Don't see much point really. Nobody has ever mentioned that I look creased.

JollyHockeyStick · 06/09/2012 14:47

And I brush my hair daily.

VinegarTits · 06/09/2012 14:49

i moved here two years ago this Dec Trills, thats when i stopped MNing (apart from the odd cameo)

ironing takes up very little of my time, an hour on a sunday night and its done for the week, i should really become all beach comber like and creased now though, but some old habits die hard

I love ironing especially with a good movie on but not a sobfest movie! I iron my bedlinen and will also iron underwear if it's really creased! < sad cah that I am>
