Nosey ... but also thought that my gym was reasonably competitive until today when a friend told me that she often gets emails / flyers quoting much cheaper prices.

I pay £65 p/m (this is with a corporate discount, they normally charge £70 but work gets me a fiver off). This includes all classes.

AIBRO? (Am I being ripped off?) Grin

£39 pcm - corporate rate and paid by my boss!

vodkaanddietirnbru · 03/09/2012 19:20

there is another similar thread to this. I pay £35 per month at a local council run sports centre - includes gym, fitness classes, swimming, etc plus you can use any of the 13 other council facilities in the local authority too.

BellaVita · 03/09/2012 19:20

£33 per month. Have access all the time to pool, classes, sauna, steam room, gym etc.

imonthefone · 03/09/2012 19:21

£25/month...classes and creche included

but i dont think you are being ripped off necessarily-it sounds fairl standard for an in-town gym, i think

comedycentral · 03/09/2012 19:21

£25. I get the choice of 5 lovely, modern council gyms with all facilities and classes for that too.

AlargeglassofwhatBorisIsOn · 03/09/2012 19:22

Try £95 a month! Includes DS 3 and Dd 1

mum11970 · 03/09/2012 19:25

I pay £25 pm for council run leisure centre, includes all council pools/centres in our county.

MissCalamity · 03/09/2012 19:26

What??!!

I pay £17.99 a month at the council run gym right round the corner from me. This is for gym membership only, it was £24 a month which included classes but I'm not a classes kind of girl.

I'm in the North West, which probably makes a bit difference in prices.

butisthismyname · 03/09/2012 19:26

£200 a month for the four of us

ImPeppaPigOink · 03/09/2012 19:26

£12.99 including all classes/swimming.

crackcrackcrak · 03/09/2012 19:30

I pay £60 at virgin but that's peak which I no longer need. I'm moving to off peak under their new tarred which is £46

It's an ex Esporta with pool etc - it's v nice

thepeoplesprincess · 03/09/2012 19:34

£15.99 for unlimited classes and gym. No pool or creche tho.

DruAnderson · 03/09/2012 19:35

Mines is £40 per month for me, £10 per month for dd and £10 per year for ds (18months).
There is a massive pool for lane swimming, a small one for more relaxed swimming and a rather large kids pool. There are kids classes everyday for dd (kids have to be over 4 to attend) and unlimited swimming. As ds is only 18 months he gets unlimited swimming.
I thinks its a bargain. Dd swims twice a week and one kids club, during the summer they did and extra 2 hour class during the day. Ds swims at least once a week.
There is a sauna, jacuzzi pool and Unlimited classes for me.
I go 5 times a week, but am there most days either working out or with the kids so its a bargain for us.

DoreensEatingHerSoreen · 03/09/2012 19:35

ah thanks vodka should have a better look around before I start my own thread

Yes my friend was surprised at what I pay and thought that £35 a month seemed more the norm. It's a Virgin Active club, really nice facilities but might start shopping around, there are no council ones as close to me but the saving might justify the travel.

GobblersKnob · 03/09/2012 19:36

The one near me ai £14.99 a month all in.

Spuddybean · 03/09/2012 19:37

£27 for a gym and a pool and classes (la fitness). It's very oversubscribed tho and we are looking at changing to one which has more/better facilities for £70.

WhatYouLookingAt · 03/09/2012 19:37

at least that one was in the right topic.

295? per year.

laracroft2001 · 03/09/2012 19:37

£54 per month including use of swimming pool. I go at least 5 days a week so worth it

RagingDull · 03/09/2012 19:37

mine was £48 per month and included one personal training session per month with that.

i gave it up - running is free!

DoreensEatingHerSoreen · 03/09/2012 19:38

Crack - I also go to a Virgin one with a nice pool - are you on the south coast by any chance? A few mnetters that I know use the same one.

I need the peak membership as I work Mon - Fri 9-5. Joys of the Rat Race!

GhostShip · 03/09/2012 19:38

I paid 28 a month but had to cancel due to my ex starting the same gym and being weird :(

Feel awful but I had to just cancel the direct debit. Waiting for that to catch up with me now. I went in to speak to them about cancelling, was told to write a letter to the manager. Wrote her a letter. Never heard back. Rang about 6 times 'she's a busy woman' still no reply. Went in again. 'she's not here'. So had no other choice.

Ridiculous.

AGreenie · 03/09/2012 19:40

I pay £ 55 PCM peak for me +£15 per child over 3 which gets 2 hours per day in crèche/classes. It's virgin active too...

Chandon · 03/09/2012 19:43

£60 for a fancy pants one with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna etc. And very clean.

Not sure I've ever been to the gym! But use the pools a lot Grin, on a sunny day it is like a mini holiday, with parasols and lounge chairs and outdoor bubble bath....

Dinosaurdrip · 03/09/2012 19:43

I get mine free with work, I work in a spa hotel so includes full access to saunas, steam rooms etc. 2ds and DP are able to use the swimming pool too.
