To set up a thread so that someone will --hopefully-- come and talk to me??

Am I? Or should I find something else to do? I am sat at work and there isn't anything to do...the day is long and boring so far, and my supervisor is pissing me off no end and am trying not to blow my top at her. My 3 DC are away at their dads until sunday and i am missing them dreadfully and thought i'd love the quiet....but I just want them back!

If anyone fancies talking and helping my day along..... :)

I'm done at doctor now. Was having coil fitted...no doubt in my mind a man designed the speculum..

Scones? Is there jam?

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 14:49

Everyone else has disappeared Tee.....think they're all off eating their scones and cupcakes!

So....I made a cup of tea and am now eating my nice cold Cadbury's Caramel bar.....which is now making me hungry.....even though I wasn't before.

Never had a coil fitted so I cannot comment on the speculum.......but I am sure it must have been designed by a man anyway :)

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 14:59

Have you never had a smear, lovemy3kids?

I am now home with salt and vinegar McCoys and Cadbury Fruit and Nut...

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 15:00

What's a tuna melt? I must admit I do love a piece of toast, spread with tuna mayonaise, then sprinkle grated cheese over the top and then pop it under the grill until the cheese melts.....delish :) thats not a tuna melt is it ?Blush

Yeah it is, except I've done it as a toastie in the George Foreman Grin

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 15:03

Never tried it in the George Foreman probably because mine is stuck on a shelf in the garage as it is too big to keep in the kitchen and i have nowhere else to put it

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 15:07

Yes, same tool. Only it's in for ages.

Yes, that's a tuna melt.

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 15:07

Oh sorry, of course, have some chocolate as well!

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 15:14

It was definetly a man that invented it....a woman would have invented something nicer I am sure!!

Thanks for the chocolate :)

I only disappeared because the nurse turned up! Im back now!! This is becoming a very food orientated thread, Im hungry now!! Might start making my left over risotto for tea.

It must have been a man, speculum's are not nice.

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 16:24

Hope all went well with the nurse GotMy :)

It is very food orientated and it has been making me want to eat...but luckily theres nothing in the office for me to eat anymore nor any bloody work ....so i am having a cup of cappucino instead. Oh well....nearly home time....only 35 minutes to go :)

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 16:26

Oh gotmy look at your sweet sweet girl! I hope she's doing well!

I'm trying to get motivated to go make dinner.....

Technoviking · 29/08/2012 16:26

Can I ask how you make left over risotto? Surely, if it's leftover, it's already made? Grin

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 16:28

ahh lovemy there is nothing worse than having nothing to do and clock watching, I used to love being a waitress for this reason, I was always busy and before I knew it, it was home time!!

Tee thank you, she is beautiful (I know im biased) she is doing so well, hoping the oxygen will be gone within a month and then I can FINALLY be a normal mum.

What you making for dinner? I have no motivation either!!

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 16:28

I assumed that they would be making risotto (fresh) with leftovers

OP posts:
GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 16:29

haha, Technoviking I am making a risotto from leftovers. We had chicken for tea last night so thats getting chucked in, loads of bits of veg and generally whatever I can find. Its risotto from leftovers, rather than leftover risotto....

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 16:29

This easy peasy tomato pasta thing I make that's never the same twice. You basically put a bunch of veg and some tomatoes in a pan and cook them, toss them with pasta and eat.

DorothyGherkins · 29/08/2012 16:29

Oh Lovemy3kids, I ve not heard anyone mention a lardy cake for decades! Can you still get them? they were the dream cake of my childhood - I could always eat a whole family size !

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 16:29

xpost..yep

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 16:31

Oh yes Dorothy.....we can still get them in my area.....in fact I only had one yesterday for my breakfast/lunch (not family size I hasten to add). They are just so nice an guey, and it all sticks to your teeth and the roof of your mouth.....mmmmm Grin

OP posts:
DorothyGherkins · 29/08/2012 16:35

Oh Lovemy, I m feeling all nostalgiac and homesick now! Are you West Country, or do they have lardy cakes other places? I love how bread and cakes are so regional.

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 16:40

I live in the South West.....in the Shire that is classed as the 'Heart of the Cotswolds'. I love laerdy cakes.....have done since I was a child and my dad used to go and get the weekend paper from the local shop and come back with one each for me and my sisters for breakfast....and they were all nice and warm....mmmm. Might have to indulge in another one tomorrow now Grin
