To set up a thread so that someone will --hopefully-- come and talk to me??

Am I? Or should I find something else to do? I am sat at work and there isn't anything to do...the day is long and boring so far, and my supervisor is pissing me off no end and am trying not to blow my top at her. My 3 DC are away at their dads until sunday and i am missing them dreadfully and thought i'd love the quiet....but I just want them back!

If anyone fancies talking and helping my day along..... :)

We did blw with dd1 and it was such a pest eating things I thought she would eat too (lots of good things about blw don't get me wrong).
We are about to start all that soon with dd2. She was born eight weeks early do although her gut is mature enough for food her motor skills etc aren't.
So at the moment I'm offering her odd bits and bobs but she's not doing much with them.

RuleBritannia · 29/08/2012 13:11

It's lovely weather here.

NameChangeGalore · 29/08/2012 13:13

We had a lovely day here yesterday too. I'm dreading the school run next week with the pushchair; DS hates the raincover and screams when I put it on!

Ooh, Dangermouse?! I loved that when I was younger. It used to be on after Rolf Harris's cartoon club in the olden days I think Grin.

What is blw? DS started reaching for our food and trying to grab spoons when he was about 4-5 months. Is that blw? I try to give him 3 meals a day now he's nearly 8 months but sometimes he just refuses to eat with a spoon, so I hand him the spoon and feed him with my fingers or hand him finger foods.

CarpeJugulum · 29/08/2012 13:15

I've got strawberry and cream shortbread to bring (thanks to Mr Sainsbury). I'd love a cuppa as DS is back to sitting on me.

Thank god for MNet!

RikersBeard · 29/08/2012 13:15

I just do whatever is most expedient at any particular mealtime
Ie today I had some leftover pasta in fridge so he got that. And we haven't got anything on, so he could sit and make a mess for a while, while I got on with something else.
Other days he gets mush, if I am in a hurry, if I have something ready/defrosted, or if he seems really hungry.

and sometimes he gets stuff in jars

I would love a cupcake but am low-carbing. Boiled egg anyone?

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 13:16

oops, DD woke up they are vanilla, they are yummy!!

DD is 6 and a half months old (actual) so she should be 3 and a half months, she is just perfect!!

KD, I do remember, thank you!! That thread kept me sane!

I'll come over and watch dangermouse, it rocks!

Technoviking · 29/08/2012 13:17

Hi

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 13:18

RikersBeard im pretty sure its illegal to have boiled egg without buttery toast so you might as well just have a cupcake :)

KD0706 · 29/08/2012 13:22

I will at some point post about something other than food!!

DH back with lunch. Baguette express chicken mayonnaise. Not as good as subway!!

Tee2072 · 29/08/2012 13:25

I am now on the bus.

[Tee's location update emoticon]

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 13:30

I'll chat. I'm home alone and being mopey and miserable and have a thread in chat if anybody wants to do some gentle ego stroking Wink

I can't decide what to have for lunch. I also seem to have a dodgy stomach Confused so am currently making do with Custard Creams in the interim whilst watching Charlotte's Web.

Technoviking · 29/08/2012 13:38

I just had chicken and salad in a pita, was very nice. Kept spilling all over my desk mind.

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 13:44

Oh, and I have home made scones in the freezer. I'll get them out.

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 13:48

I read that, brilliant, I cant comment though, until last year I thought that geographically canada was 'on top' of mexico and America was underneth Blush I knew Mexico was the thin bit!!

KD0706 · 29/08/2012 13:48

Ooh lemon chicken lovely

Am now sat in beauty salon waiting for eyebrow wax

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 13:49

Mmmmm....home made scones....do you have the jam and clotted cream too....or is that just being greedy Grin.

I feel as though i should start taking up baking again with all the talk of cakes and scones Hmm but by the time I get home from work cooking is the last thing I want to do

Hello ladies, all this sounds v serene.
Had a crap morning here at Cocky towers...DP has had visual disturbance for 48 hrs, saw GP who suspected mini stroke and referred him as an emergency to the eye unit... Just picked him up, he has been given the all clear...is due to go to heart unit to have cardiac surgery in a couple of weeks.
In other news DD and I had what I call fun poking round the new huuuuge M&S in between picking DP dropping off, etc...

GotMyLittleLamb · 29/08/2012 13:52

oh cockypants that sounds like a truly rubbish morning, is your DP feeling OK now?

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 13:53

CockyPants - sorry to hear about your DP, but good news that he has had the all clear. Did you buy anything in M & S? Haven't been inside an M & S for months!

CockyPants · 29/08/2012 13:57

New M&S is a bit shouty! Biggest one on country. Had a free drink given to us by an orange woman. They had champers too, but I was driving boooo.
Cupcakes sounds wonderful.... What lovely ladies you are to appreciate the tastier things in life! Scones too...clotted cream?
