WIBU - involves dog shit, a 4x4, and a disabled parking bay...

Inspired by the other thread ...

Bank holiday Monday so we go to a localish country park for a nice walk.

All fine and lovely, but upon returning to car park, there is a big dog having a big shite right on the corner of the disabled parking bay where the yellow lines are . If you were getting a wheelchair out, you would go straight through it if you didn't notice it.

Dog belongs to miserable looking snooty woman driving a mahoosive land rover thingy, who just watched the dog do its business and then called it to follow her off down path leaving shite, not a trace of shame.

I am getting increasingly sick of ignorant people and especially ignorant people in big 4x4s etc who think they can do what the hell they want.

So waited till she was out of sight, got a carrier bag and deposited the shite onto the lovely shiny bonnet for her.

Totally inspired by the cream thread ... We are making a stand!

Brilliant.

diddl · 27/08/2012 18:25

"Surely you'd (logically if wrongly) assume that once the dog was done the owner would pick it up?"

Not if the dog owner had already walked away?

OP bothered to pick up the shit & bag it-which was fantastic.

And she was doing it for the owner-but more for the poor sod who might have stepped in it.

I think that it would have been enough to leave the bag on the car.

I´m obviously the only one.

schmee · 27/08/2012 18:26

Not clear why the type of car is relevant? Makes you sound a bit chippy saying that and devalues your actual point. Yanbu re the dog shit though.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 27/08/2012 18:26

OP you're a star! Well done.

CurlyKiwiControl · 27/08/2012 18:28

Nah diddl we couldn't have. Difficult to explain but to give her a bag would have had to involve running after her.

We were returning to car park as she was setting off.

She saw us, we saw her.

She did not care.

As a previous dog owner, had my dog done that I would have been mortified.

If I had forgotten bags I would have looked in car for something I would have waited a minute and asked approaching family if they had anything I could use.

It was perfectly obvious she had no intention of picking it up.

SoupDragon · 27/08/2012 18:29

The car is relevant only because 4x4s are a traditional MN Hot Topic together with disabled bays and dog shit.

Happiestinwellybobs · 27/08/2012 18:31

Well done OP!! As the owner of a 4x4 and a giant pooch i would like to say we are not all the same. I couldn't for shame to leave a poo for someone to stand in. I have even been known I clean up other poo outside the local primary school as well as my own hounds. I cannot understand how ignorant these people are.

I am still trying to catch the person who lets their dog shit outside my house, so I can scoop it up and deposit on their doorstep!!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/08/2012 18:32

I guess diddl that if she was merely picking it up to try and prevent someone stepping or wheeling through it, yes leaving it on the bonnet in a bag would have been enough. However, she was also, I guess, trying to make the women understand that leaving shit everywhere is disgusting. Look there it is on your car - isn't that disgusting? Now maybe you'll think about all those times you have left it behind without bothering to clear it up.

Though I suspect that she is the type of person who would be filled with self righteous indignation no matter how in the wrong she is. In that case, the OP has caused her the same inconvenience she regularly causes others. So bravo to that.

CurlyKiwiControl · 27/08/2012 18:32

No shame at all.

ShiftyFades · 27/08/2012 18:32

I am utterly in love with you and Olympicsrocks who used cream to make her point.
You are both an inspiration Grin
As a polite person who takes their turn and a previous dog owner (passed away this year) who always picked up poo, I can fid no justification in rudeness and leaving dog poo behind.

And this is why I love MN Grin

spanishring · 27/08/2012 18:33

She's disgusting - you did the right thing. Perhaps she'll think twice before she does it again.

Happiestinwellybobs · 27/08/2012 18:33

Oh dear, as a relatively new MN-we maybe I shouldn't have admitted I owned a 4x4 Blush. Hadn't realised it was a hot topic!

CurlyKiwiControl · 27/08/2012 18:35

Thanks soupdragon im glad someone saw that :) I will reiterate I was being tounge in cheek about the car

OP posts:
ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/08/2012 18:35

I used to have a 4x4 . But I got rid of it.

Still wouldn't leave dog shit around though mainly because I have no dog.

SoupDragon · 27/08/2012 18:37

Its almost like a game of bingo - a scenario involving as many HOt Topics as possible.

If only poo-lady had been parked in a P&C space [sigh]

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/08/2012 18:39

Or taken her buggy on the bus

TraineeBabyCatcher · 27/08/2012 18:39

I actually love you. I hope it was a big sloppy poo. I'm very close to tears of laughter from this thread.

maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavour · 27/08/2012 18:40

My older dc walk my aforementioned huge hounds and even they know to always always clean up after them. In fact there have been a few times when things have been a bit...erm...liquidy and as well as picking up what they could they have come home to get a bucket of water and disinfectant to wash it down with or one time when ds1 was too far away from home so used coke as he thought it was the lesser of two evils

If teenagers can manage this then I can't understand any adult who thinks leaving dog poo is ok

CondoleezzaRiceKrispies · 27/08/2012 18:41

Someone should invent some sort of localised explosive that can be applied to all walking surfaces in the country. It then detonates after 5 continous seconds of being in contact with dog poo. Bag it within 5 seconds and you get to live.

Dragons' Den? Grin

TooYoungToParty · 27/08/2012 18:42

You keep referring to a wheelchair running over the dog poo, not everyone parking in a disabled bay will be using a wheelchair, it's annoying me so therefore YABU.

Oh and yabu for the whole dogpoo incident too.

Shutupanddrive · 27/08/2012 18:43

YANBU, well done OP

Fourfingerkitkat · 27/08/2012 18:52

TooYoungToParty - Think you're being rather pedantic...the OP is being unreasonable because she thought of a wheelchair user's welfare ?...

I think Clifford the Big Red Dog is on the loose round here, the size of shites I keep running into with the pram. Would love to copy you CurlyKiwiControl but think I would need a JVC to lift the bloody things...

Socknickingpixie · 27/08/2012 18:53

i would normally hardly ever agree with doing anything even remotely impolite however.....

if you are certain it was her car and if you would have done it to any other type of car then YANBU

given the circumstances and if they are as you describe then yep i would do the same (or wish i had done) should i be cought and taken to court i would happyly explain to a judge why i did it and would be more than happy to pay any fine resulting from it and would do it again if the circumstances arose
however i would not under any circumstances advocate or agree with any of the posters who are saying you should have left it in the bag thats littering and just wrong when it comes to plastic bags especially in a nature walk type area birds and animals can get hurt by plastic bags

NoLogo · 27/08/2012 19:01

You should have used the poo like a crayon OP, to write a message on the windscreen to let her know why, heh heh.

I have always said (we have a dog shit problem locally) that if I ever saw the person who was letting their dog crap in front of our house, that after telling them to pick it up and they didn't, I would be prepared to chase them with it and smear it on the fuckers.

Shit for a shit.

CurlyKiwiControl · 27/08/2012 19:01

TooYoungToParty along came the professionally offended brigade.

I am fully aware that not every one who parks in a disabled bay will be using a wheel chair (belonging to a family where 3 have blue badges, not one in a wheel chair)

You are missing the point The point is that there is a likelyhood that a disabled bay may have had a wheelchair user pull up in it.

They may have not seen the poo because of where it was and wheeled through it. They may then of got it all over their hands / sleeves as mentioned up thread. They then would of had to put wheel chair back in car, thus covering car too, especially if they did not notice.

That is slightly worse than just stepping in dog shit imo.

FYI if it was not on a disabled bay I would have done the same.

As SoupDragon said, really the only reason I mentioned it in the first place was because the scenario which unfolded seemed to tick off a lot of the MN HOT TOPICS so to speak.

I was most disappointed she did not have a fruit shoot sausage roll muching sprog with her, and I could not incorparte a P&C parking bay into my rendition also.
