WIBU - involves dog shit, a 4x4, and a disabled parking bay...

Inspired by the other thread ...

Bank holiday Monday so we go to a localish country park for a nice walk.

All fine and lovely, but upon returning to car park, there is a big dog having a big shite right on the corner of the disabled parking bay where the yellow lines are . If you were getting a wheelchair out, you would go straight through it if you didn't notice it.

Dog belongs to miserable looking snooty woman driving a mahoosive land rover thingy, who just watched the dog do its business and then called it to follow her off down path leaving shite, not a trace of shame.

I am getting increasingly sick of ignorant people and especially ignorant people in big 4x4s etc who think they can do what the hell they want.

So waited till she was out of sight, got a carrier bag and deposited the shite onto the lovely shiny bonnet for her.

Totally inspired by the cream thread ... We are making a stand!

magicstar1 · 28/08/2012 11:31

turnipvontrapp are you serious? It's your neighbour's own garden....if I was her I'd complain about your kids kicking balls in and coming in to get them!

OP - I think you're brilliant!!!

Well if her garden is full of dog shit, the area must stink, to be fair! Not so sure about the children retrieving balls thing though.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/08/2012 15:03

Confiscate the dog?
Turnip - is that a windup?

And as someone else has said above, what were your kids doing in your neighbour's garden? What if your neighbour were to report them and you- for trespass? Wouldn't that be fun.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/08/2012 15:09

I was very anti doing it with the cream but I'm not anti the dog poo one - she should have picked it up, I have a dog and I pick up.

What you failed to do is leave a note on the windscreen saying - you forgot this with a little smiley face :)

I always offer other dog owners extra poo bags pleasantly - not once has someone declined.

bubalou · 28/08/2012 15:19

My garden has dog poo - all the time! The little bastards as soon as I pick it u they do another one (on purpose i'm sure!) If we leave it for 1 day there can be 3-7 poos! We clean it up as often as humanly possible and we use a special antibacterial outdoor cleaner. This is all on a patio area - our DS has a separate fenced off garden the dogs cannot go in.

However if a kid broke into / trespassed into my back garden without permission then I hope they slip in it & give their mum the treat of washing their clothes.

Yanbu.

I wish I had the balls to do it!

biff23 · 28/08/2012 18:28

You did totally the right thing - well done you. I pulled someone up and offered them one of my (clean) poo bags (I have a dog) and he threatened me and gave me all sorts of abuse. I actually ended up calling community police and they asked me to describe dog (wtf, the dog didn't do anything wrong) and told me in future to just let it go as they wouldn't do anything anyway.

Actions do speaker louder than words.

Mayisout · 28/08/2012 18:45

YOu should have shoved some at the top of the bonnet below the windscreen wipers as I think this isthe intake for freshair Grin

loopyluna · 28/08/2012 20:36

Or just above the windscreen wipers Grin

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/08/2012 20:58

biff23 from your story I am almost coming round to the pt of view that the OP WNBU.
Vile man!

turnipvontrapp · 29/08/2012 08:40

It's a very safe cul-de-sac and all the kids (including the dog poo neighbour's) play out all over the place including drives, gardens. They play hide and seek and loads of games and have a great time! No-one is funny about it. The grass with dog poo on is right next to the pavement and we try our best to keep the kids off it but sometimes they do have to retrieve a ball (shock horror, call the police). It is disgusting. If she wants to live like this then fence off the dog poo grass, suits us all fine! Environmental Health agree with all the neighbours that have complained and have warned them its a health hazard so not just me that thinks that.

sue52 · 29/08/2012 11:25

This thread has inspired me to take positive action against anti social litterers and dog poo responsibility avoiders . I had my first go this morning. A well dressed woman dropped a wrapper on the pavement, I retrived it and handed it to her with a smile and said that she dropped it. She looked at me as though I was a mad woman and said it's only rubbish, dropped it again and walked off at a brisk pace. I think I'll have to be a bit more forthright in future confrontations.

RuleBritannia · 29/08/2012 11:51

Sue If her bag had been open, you could have dropped the paper in it.

I live on a footpath with other houses and we have a small car park at the end. I usually go out and pick up litter (plastic bag on picking hand and carrier bag in other hand to put it into). I picked the litter up yesterday but had to go out later and found cigarette ends all along the path. I know where they came from because a neighbour is having work done on her house and it's the workmen who drop them. After the men have gone today, I shall go out with my plastic bag and a much smaller carrier bag, pick up their litter and put it into the back of their van tomorrow (the door is usually left ajar). Shall I put a note in the bag, too?

"I don't think that 4x4 drivers are necessarily selfish pigs . . ."

I'm not sure.

Except for the likes of farmers there are three main factors about 4x4s:

  1. You get to peer down at other drivers
  2. You get to show off your big stupid car
  3. The pollution is horrendous, and you're maxing out how much you can destroy the planet for future generations.

These people carefully weigh up these factors, then put their ego before the fate of the planet. Surely that's the definition of selfish.

BTW, OP you are my hero.

CondoleezzaRiceKrispies · 29/08/2012 12:42

Not to mention choosing a vehicle that will result in anyone or anything it hits being much more severely damaged than if they'd been hit by a normal car.

tryingtonotfeckup · 29/08/2012 16:16

Yawn, there are other factors about 4x4s

  1. Mine has a similar rating for pedestrians as a medium saloon car;
  2. Yes its big, but it is driven carefully and with consideration for other road users. I wish that some other road users would do the same, i.e . don't overtake into on coming traffic so that I and the car / van that are overtaking don't have to slam onto the brakes so that we stop a crash.
  3. Safety for my children, see above, fitting all the kids and their stuff in and that I live rurally so its handy in mud and snow. (yes lots of people round here have a least one 4x4, not just farmers).
  4. If I wanted to show off it wouldn't be in a 4x4.

But thats a whole other thread.

Well the 4 * 4 on my drive enables this person to get to work to support very vulnerable people when other staff cannot make it in through ice, snow and floods. I have been on duty for 48 hours without a break because others could not make it. I was also able to get emergency supplies through to others including vulnerable people and even feed to animals.

........ selfish then am I ????

PacificDogwood · 29/08/2012 20:12

This is a retaliate-against-thoughtless-dogowners-thread, not a bash-the-4x4-owner one!

Grin

We had such a deluge of rain here today, that all turds du jour washed up in front of the ONE dogowner in our street who does not clean up after his pet GrinGrinGrin

You don't need a 4x4. Of course, you are as free to choose your own car, as I am free to choose appropriate adjectives.

tazzle22 Wed 29-Aug-12 19:05:43
Sounds like you need it.

Right. Next?

tryingtonotfeckup · 30/08/2012 15:45

MrsBethel, you don't know me, where I live, what I do, my circumstances so you don't know what I do / do not need.

But you don't sound as though you let facts get in the way of passing judgement on other people. So my choice of adjectives are patronising and judgemental.
